Depo-Provera questions

Hello everyone,
Just joined the message board. I had a few question for those who know about depo. I took my first ever 150 mg depo injection, intramuscularly in my butt, a week ago, and another 150 mg shot two days later. it's been a week since the first shot, and i still don't feel any different. I was curious how long it usually takes to hit and what i should expect. Also, everyone talks about decreased/lack of libido and random erections, which is what I want, but does that mean I won't be able to engage in sex with my partner? And once the shot does kick in, when do the effects start wearing off. My goal for using depo is to remove the leash that sex seems to have on guys. I want to be in control of when I am turned on or hard, but I do still want to be able to be sexual with someone. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Depobeginner i have been on depo provera now for 21 months and i would have to say my sex drive is gone. But i do take 250mil premarin once a day and that also slowed things down. You will probley see a changh in things in about another week or so and since you took the shots as close togeather as you did it should slow you down quickly. Now i get my shots 150mil once a month and that works just right for me and undre doctors care. You may also not want to take the shots farther apart than once a month if you just want to slow things down.Anymore questions just ask and pm me if you want.

Thanks sag, much appreciated. I'm looking forward to feeling different. I also had another question for anyone that could help: Does depo-provera tend to be more effective than Androcur, or vice-versa? I realized both could be ordered online and would like to be on the most effective one.

I have been on both depo provera and androcur. You should start feeling a difference during the 3rd week after injection. When you start to notice that your penis stays unusually small and you no longer have errections unless you really work at it the stuff is working. My one shot of depo provera wore off about 3.5-months after the injection. I had trouble getting errections during the 4-6 week, but I was still functional just at a lower level. During that time sex was not very important to me. After about the 6th week things started going back to normal, although I wasn't my usual self until a least the beginning of the 3rd month. Most guys report a nonexistant libido with very weak or no errections or libido after 4-5 months of monthly 150 mg injections. If you still want to function try them every 8 weeks and increase or decrease as necessary. It may take a good while before you get the correct dosage.
Now as far as androcur goes, I'm on it right now by the way, it's far more powerful than depo provera. You may only have to take a 1/4 to a half of a 50 mg pill daily to get the results your looking for. At 50 mg a day I'm completely castrated, no errections, no orgasms, and no sex drive what so ever. I cannot get an errection no matter how hard I try. Your in for a reall unusual experience once your injections take effect. Just remember that castration or a reduced libido isn't for everyone. You will discover if it's right for you in a short time, so just be patient, these changes are very subtle and gradual in nature. Also take into account that long term use of anti-androgens (more than six months) can yield permanent results so make your decision wisely.

I started loosing my libido 3 weeks after my first shot. DP does remain in the body for awhile so the longer you are on it, taking 150mg/month, the less libido you will have.

So for long term shrinkage of both the penis and testicles, as well as less erections and ejaculate, as well as perhaps less anger, would androcur or depoprovera be a good starter? I am not looking for any feminization, but I don't like my bits and I want to make them tiny and useless and I have had anger management issues since I was a child and though I can control it better today, I realize I still can get pretty hot-headed. Thanks for the insight.

I'm wondering about the side effects of Depot provera vs Androcur.
Anyone can tell me if there is less side effects with witch one has less side effets if so?
