How about when neighbor, Gladys Kravits, says, 'Good Catch Robby...', when she spies me driving away with my date?

After you have them pinned down it is a "good catch".

I have re-considered. Perhaps this is what they mean.

A grouper or Mahi-Mahi is a good catch, clean it and eat it.

However, a Great white Shark is not. It eats you.

The moral of the story is a girl is not a good catch until you have eaten her. If she eats you first then she is no better than your average Barracuda.
