As others see us

I am back from a 10 day school at the United States Postal Service's school in Norman, Oklahoma. The school had very limited internet access. When I typed in the URL for The Eunuch Archives, I got back a message saying that access was denied due to inappropiate content.

"Obscene/extreme, Sex"

This could be my fault. Maybe the Postal Inspecters have read in some of the Internet newsgroups my postings about my heavy petting sessions with 4 pussies in my bedroom...and we were all nude.

That's so funny, Andrew! It shows the silliness of blocking sights en-masse.

But the Postal Service and most Federal agencies will block sights based on sex and appropriateness for work. The Archive will be on that list because the agency (the federal goverment) owns the computer network and supplies the worker with computer service for work, not pleasure.

Properly, you shouldn't even do your personal e-mail at work.

With that tracking software, ALL URL's are recorded and reviewed. People have been known to set up personal businesses online and administer them at work. Workers have been suspended for downloading porn using the agencies computers. They also "skirt" the tracking software by searching out the Radio stations with their "babe of the day" ... I have been told of guys who have thirty radio stations they visit daily just to see those picture. (softcore) That isn't work.

I know of this because I used to scan 50 newspapers and websites for news on Global Climate Change. The "reviewers" came and asked why I was accessing so many newspapers. I didn't resent the question. Every so often I have discussions with the people who take care of the software and learn of the abuses that some people try.

Because we have to access the Whitehouse (.GOV) website, we have blocked Whitehouse .COM and .ORG - - if you go to see those sights, you'll know why.

These efforts are not aimed at the Archive, but at all sights that handle sex topics. Don't take it personally. I would be surprised if the didn't block the Archive.

{I take this stuff too seriously, sometime}
