For myself castration was a serious necessity.

After I obtained castration, I found that many other things were also a necessity for me. I've made even more drastic changes in my life during the past 12 months alone.

Certainly not a fetish, as I understand the term. I didn't even bother to ask Dr. Spector to preserve my testicles as a souvineer.

Necessity? Ummmm....hard to say. I suppose I could have continued to struggle with my libido problems. But castration was certainly the "easier, softer way".

Well my view on castration is a little mixed, I do have some fetishes about it, but it has been something I knew I had to do eventually when I was 13.

I have been on Androcur for over 3 months now and wished I had started it sooner. Now to just get them removed.

I'd have to say mine is somewhere in the middle, but leans toward necessity. I feel overburdened by my sex drive (Luvpain can vouch for that) but I also feel at least somewhat excited, not by the act of castration, but of having an empty scrotum. Normally that excitement stems from feeling that my testicles are ever so evil and

"keeping me down".

I'm starting androcur very soon, my order is in the mail from inhouse as I type this. (I'm excited about getting it!) This will be my test run for the next year or so before I get even more serious about more permanent solution through surgery. If It was more fantasy, do you think I'd spend so much money on prepping for the surgery and making sure it's right for me? :)~

Anyone who wants to be castrated, but then take HRT after the fact needs to reconsider why they are doing this... I definately want to make sure I can handle being testertrone free before going through with it.

For many of us, it was a necessity. I am a woman, so the testes were simply very wrong.

Don't forget that besides doing bad things to your mind, testosterone also harms your body--it causes body hair, loss of scalp hair, and general ugliness--very unbecoming of a normal woman.

Regarding testosterone, the adrenal glands produce androgens, and they can be converted to T and DHT in peripheral tissues. My total T level prior to castration yet on Androcur is the same as it has been since castration (July, 2001), and is always between 45-49ng/dL, which is sort of high for a normal woman.

Regarding libido, do not forget that women typically have a T level comparable to a eunuch, and you know that women are capable of romance.

Since I have no gonads, I take prescription estrogen, progesterone, and other drugs in order to maintain normal hormone levels for a female. This is, of course, paid for by insurance.

Regarding doing this for a "fetish," well, I suppose that some do, but most of the people who I know who have been "snipped" did so more our of necessity.

You have asked a very good question--one that many people have wondered. I am curious--if one masturbates to the thought of castration, would not the aftermath of the actual event put a hamper on future such activites? 😿

Hugs,

Kelly :)

After thinking this over for a couple of days, I would like to vote for a THIRD option, castration as a convenience. 📖

I agree with Andrew's "castration as a convenience" idea, although for me that's not the only reason (see last reason). Reasons I don't like testosterones are:

* spontaneous erections

* hard to pee first thing in the morning

* penis gets hard just from rubbing against fabric sometimes

* I especially hate it when it happens in public

* nocturnal emissions

* sex drive, especially unsatisfied sex drive

* body hair growth

* facial hair growth

* acne

* I prefer the company of females, and feel I would fit in better if I didn't have testicles, just like them

I would have to say it is a necessity for me. Of course, like Sherry and Kelly, I need to take it further than just castration. I didn't realise until I started chemical castration, how much I hated have all that testosterone racing around in me. Recently I've become more fixated on getting castrated for several reasons, some of which are not being able to afford SRS right now, and also I could drop the anti-androgens so the hormones may work better (not to mention some of the side effects of anti-androgens).
