Dear Eunuch Archive Members,
It is with great mixed emotion that I find myself writing to you tonight.
I am proud of founding the Eunuch Archive, and proud of each and every one of you. You all make this the wonderful and supportive community that it is. As much as I worry about the news reports of 'castration gone wrong' and people meeting their cutters 'on the internet' I am convinced that the presence of this site has saved countless people, young and old. We've tried to provide a safe outlet for people, a place where fantasy can thrive and yet be tempered by the experience of people who have walked the road before and can teach about the dangers and yes, the benefits of our common interest.
With the introduction of the message board the body of factual information and human resources of knowledge and compassion grew exponentially. Krister, Paolo, Andrew, Jesus, Robby, and Riverwind among others are some of the finest people I know in this world and am proud to call them my friends. I am proud that something I created has grown to bring them together in this community.
The Eunuch Archive has long since outgrown my expectations when I started the site. It's also long since matured past the point where it's 'my' site. Talula joined me as co-Archivist a couple of years ago, and shortly thereafter Paolo took over as editor-in-chief of story submissions and message board moderator. My role over the last couple of years has generally been to try to put a friendly face on the Archive and to provide guidance of the overall tone and direction of the site.
So tonight, it's with great sadness on my part that I am announcing to you all that I am stepping down as the administrator of the Eunuch Archive. It's something that I have worked long and hard on and regardless of the faith I have in those that will continue to run, and yes improve the site, it's with the same trepidation that a parent feels when their child leaves home.
My leaving my position is, though, a necessity. The mixed emotions come from my reasons for stepping down. I can't go into great detail, but I am hoping there are going to be some very big, and very positive changes in my life in the near future, changes that are incompatible with running this website. I am in love, and I intend to do everything in my power to make sure I don't do anything to endanger that love or hurt the person I am in love with.
It has been truly a great ride. Thank you for all of your love and support. While I won't be involved in the administration or running of the Eunuch Archive any longer, I will continue to be around reading stories, reading the boards, and yes even posting something when I have something to say. I will just be another user, albeit one that happens to be pretty good friends with the admins. I will also be a technical consultant to talula and Paolo on server and software issues.
Talula will take over as the overall site administrator and Paolo will continue as message board moderator and editor-in-chief.
I am hoping that these guys can take the Archive to the next level and involve some of the incredible talent that makes up this community and form a more stable and formal operating structure with some of our local members acting as a advisory board that the administrator(s) can use as a sounding board for developing site policies, etc.
My sincere wish for this site is that it continues on, growing and getting better and better as time goes on. For you all, my wish is happiness, health, and the answer to all your hopes and dreams.
Sincerely,
Bboy
