All of us know about the effects of prepubertal male castrations, i.e. lack of genital development, high voice and impotence (in most cases) but what about prepubertal FEMALE castration (i.e. removal of the ovaries - spaying)?

I am interested in writing a female ovariectomy/clitoridectomy story but have no knowledge of the after effects of prepubertal spaying?

What happens is a girl is spayed before puberty?

1) Does this prevent/reduce breast development?

2) Does this reduce teenage sex drive?

3) Does she still have pubic hair/anxillary hair growth?

If anyone does know any details then I would be interested and it would certainly help the storyline

I can answer this. I had my ovaries removed when I was seven for very complicated reasons (I developped pelvic inflamatory disease after being gang raped). Basically, you don't develop breasts, but you get some pubic hair. Of course, no menstruation (although I also lost my uterus). I was taking hormones, but I realized I liked small breasts anyway. With hormones your skin also gets shinny. I also have minimal axilary hair. I llike my body without hormones.

Really? I was under the impression that the ovaries, under the influence of puberty, would produce some levels of testosterone which cause the pubic hair growth. Well, I guess the adrenal glands might produce some testosterone too...

I'm under the impression that without any sex hormones, osteoporosis would be a risk. I've also heard that this may not be a problem for girls who were castrated pre-puberty, but I don't know whether that's true.

I suspect that if for some reason a female became "neutered" as you describe it that they would not develop the characteristic secondary sexual characteristics. This condition would closely mimmick Turner's Syndrome"

(Castrated Girl) You are one plucky person and kind and brave to share your experiences. It does sound like you must have some androgens in your system (presumably from your adrenal glands?)

At the risk of offending you/being personal - have you ever been able to masturbate/have any level of libido?

Myself, I am not a eunuch but did have my undescended testicles stitched down at 10 years old and was also circumcised at the same time - cheers parents - presumably to prevent me from masturbating? (I have never asked them why).

I do have a cousin who has Turners Syndrome and had her ovaries removed when she was 8 years old (I was 12 at the time) and she confided in me at that very low point in her life. She, however, had growth hormone injections and HRT so I never saw the effects of female castration on her (thankfully in her case).

I had another friend (also a schoolfriend) whose family came from the Sudan (she was a Muslim although her family didn't initially appear to be overly strict with her). A group of us (which included a male friend of mine and two girls including this one) started discussing masturbation one afternoon break in school and all of us started masturbating after that. Her parents took her on holiday 'to visit her relatives' and woke up one morning (on holiday) with her legs being forced apart by her Mum whilst an old women from their village cut off her clitoris and labia minora with sharp scissors (without anaesthetic). She obviously stopped masturbating after that but I did get to see between her legs at one point - although being a young male I didn't really understand the important differences and what she had lost.

Both of these experiences have had a profound impact on me and I continue to be interested in clitorectomy and human spaying.
