Hey guys,

For some unkown reason my computer thought it would be a terribly good idea to delete all my cookies. I had my username (wich I remember) and my password cookied so I didn't have to log in. Well, when I opened up the page, saw i wasn't logged in, I attempted to. It would not accecpt my password. I have attemtped to reset my password multipul times, It can't be on my end. Every time I go through the process, I'm able to log in and view the page to chage your password. As soon as I put in the old password and doble type the new one... hit submit, I end up at a page telling me I am either not logged in, not allowed to do this or, have been locked out of my account. WHAT is going on here?

You could try writing to Paolo asking for help. Remember, though, that he does an awful lot of work on the board and sometimes gets more requests than he can handle, but I have always found him very helpful.

Thanks Colin, I can't find his email address anywhere. I have my first story to post so, kind of excited about it and just bummed beacuse I can't log in. I will try finding his email again.

On this board there is a thread started by Paolo, open it and then click on his picture banner at the bottom of the posting.

I will have to probably submit a bug report on the change password system.

However, as a work around please:

Request a new password (click on the forgot password link and enter your email address)

When that email arrives, click on the link in it and another email will be sent with your new password (Ithink it will be all numeric, mine was)

Instead of following the link in that email, close all browser windows, open the Eunuch Archive message boards, and sign in with your username and the new password that was sent in the normal log in box at the top of the page.

Go to UserCP, and then Password. Type the password that was emailed to you in the single box at the top. Type the password you WANT in the two boxes below that.

Did this ever get resolved?

When you file that bug report, B., ask them why it is so HARD for people to log in.

I'm averaging about 5 a day now that can't, and not all of them are AOL'ers. Most are...but not all.
