Yesterday, Doug Lenhart, of the Pittsburgh suburbs, was arrested after a castration he was performing went badly wrong. Many of you have seen his postings as "pghchemist" or other screen names. I met Doug in person, and he seemed very level headed and very well versed in the procedures. However, something about him seemed not entirely kosher, so I decided to be cautious. Good thing I did. The URL posted will take you to an article about Doug being arrested after the castration of a transgender person went wrong and the individual ended up in a suburban Pittsburgh hospital.

This is a very short article, I suspect there will be more info in the local media in the next couple days. Curiously, Tammy Feldbaum, a truly looney transsexual is doing time for a botched castration she performed a couple years ago outside Pittsburgh. In Tammy's case, the subject died. Fortunately, in this case, the person survived. I guess you have to give Doug credit for getting immediate medical care, but wow............

Hats off to Riverwind, Andrew, et.al., for their advice about using real medical professionals!!
