Dirty Rotten Censorship?

I have twice submitted a story to the archive called "Hanged Drawn and Quartered". Both times this story has met all story submission guidelines but has not been included in the archive. This story is based on documented historical fact, and many men have met a fate like that described in the story. I didn't embellish anything in writing this story.

Perhaps the reason for the disappearing story should be provided to the author. I believe that anyone who spends significant time writing a story of this type is owed the decency of an explanation should their story be censored.

Any takers?

I know how frustrating that can be. Several times I have submitted stories which didn't appear in the New Story listing. I usually wait five days, then re-submit. Most of the time, the second submission goes through. On only one occasion did I have to submit something three times before I saw it listed.

I doubt very much it is a case of censorship, given the wide range of stories that appear on the EA. More than likely, the problem is with the Internet or program glitches. "Shit Happens", as the bumper sticker says.

Please try again. Maybe the third time will be the charm. Sounds like an interesting story, and I'd be glad for the chance to read it.

Not that I have to explain this, but if you'll look at the guidelines for story posting, you'll find that this work did not meet all of the requirements, as you say it did.

In short, the reason that I will not post it, is that it is a mindless 'bloodfeast' that has castration only as a passing little sidelight.

That, and the dead guy didn't rise up out of his grave to write the story.

There are plenty of other sites out there that cater to such fiction, and I don't feel that our users come here to find that sort of thing. They come here to read castration stories that involve some plot, and some cause-and-effect. This story provides neither.

Having been subjected to it twice already, I have deemed it unsuitable for posting here.

As I have mentioned a few times here, when I was promoting the stories I basically promoted everything because I didn't want to hurt any feelings.

Talula and I embraced Paolo as the Archive's Chief Editor because he is able to help maintain some standards where I could not.

I still feel bad about not posting every story but the Archive is much better for following some guidelines.

The fact that Paolo could not post your story doesn't mean it wasn't a good story - just that there are sites to which its submission might be more appropriate.
