Pueros has done it again! What a great and grand saga. In addition to being a superb storyteller, our Pueros is an excellent historian. As far as I can tell from fairly close reading, there is nothing in this story that is clearly contradicted by any surviving text. It is all absolutely possible (and even plausible). This is history as you wish your teachers had approached it.

The Department of Education of the State of California has officially defined “history” for the purposes of the public school curriculum as “a story well told.” [I know, I have trouble with this definition too. There’s absolutely NOTHING about accuracy involved.]

By this “official,” state-supported definition Pueros has produced history of the highest order. It’s also a great read!

The story has taken some time to reach its conclusion. Here are links to the six parts:

Well, Pueros, you have done it to me again.

I chose to avoid this saga until it had been posteted in its entirety, and I am glad I did. As usual, you sent me scruyying for my dictionary, but that is not a bad thing. We can never over-do our quest for increased vocabulary.

As usual, you have woven a story which is historically accurate, but appealing to the masses as well. To way 'well done' would do you an injustice. Something along the lines of OUTSTANDING would be more in keeping with your efforts.

Once again, THANK YOU for the history lesson, woven into a very compelling and gripping story.

...as there are many here who's work I love, but Pueros remains my favorite writer in the Archive, and Last of the Pharaohs is just more confirmation for me. Bravo!
