Why is the self-castrator mad or demon-possessed? Lucid evil is so much more engaging. I would like to read the implied second part of the story, in which the narrator, morally empowered by his self-castration, begins to castrate others, by force and by stealth. "Care for an anonymous blow-job in the men's room? See how white my teeth are? I can promise you ecstasy! (But for whom?)"
