I am interested in Chemical (and surgical) castration, but it is all a little confusing trying to sort out the drugs and hormones......I am a male that wants to be a eunuch and plans to have surgury as soon as possible, but in the meantime, I would like to start chemical castration. Where does one begin?

There are several users here who have gone the chemical route before surgery. There is a button in the upper right of the board called SEARCH. Use that to look for titles of threads. Use words like "Androcur" and "chemical castration", etc. Also, check out the forum here CHEMICAL CASTRATION & HORMONES. You will find a lot of help on it; just give it a bit of time for those to see your post and reply.🚬

The FIRST place to start is to see a psychiatrist.

If you are transgendered, there is a standard progression of psychiatric evaluation that will get you where you want to go.

If you are over-sexed and have problems with libido control, then you should try treatment for "paraphilia". They will probably start you on an SSRI (e.g. Prozac or equivalent) to determine if it is depression-related. SSRIs can also greatly reduce sex drive. If that doesn't work, they will prescribe anti-androgens, like Androcur.

If you have self-abuse issues, body image problems, self-esteem problems, you should deal with those first before getting castrated.

Note, I think there are many valid reasons for being castrated -- but you need to fully understand YOUR reasons, and progress rationally toward your goals.

Niel welcome to the archives .Befor i started on depo provera i surched every thing i could find on the subject here and also in google under chemical castration. The reason i went on depo provera is because it is approved by the fda and androcor is not.I ordered mine over seas but if i had it to do over again i would have seen a psychiatrist witch i finally did and than i talked to my doctor and he prescribed depo provera one shot of 150 mil once a month. This shot dosent hert at all the needle is very fine.I have been on this med for one year and i can say this is the best year of my life.As my doctor says testosterone is not good for everyone .Neil just talk to your doctor and be honest with him and rember befor you take any of thies meds you should have blood work done to make sure it is safe for you good luck.

Niel -- please post more information about your reasons / desires for being castrated. I saw your posts on yahoo! groups and you sound sincere. As a relatively young would-be eunuch (I think you stated you are 27) I think your story is fascinating from the point of view of the growing eunuch movement. Ten years ago this was truly "underground" -- and today a relatively young man like you can find eunuch.org, post a few questions, search google a little, and within short order have himself chemically or surgically castrated.

So please -- if you can -- tell us more about your reasoning and desire for castration. Have you been fixated on this for a long time?

Many of us can embrace the renunciation and rejection of the "male" role and typical male sexuality. It is almost "in the air" -- castration is like throwing our own personal brick through the glass of pervasive conformity and male dominance.

It's young (would-be) eunuchs such as you that are on the vanguard of what I see as an underground social movement. Please share what you can, and let us know if any of this strikes a chord.

Howdy. Although I use the nme "Andrew" here in the EA, I am the same Harry Andruschak who responded to your post in Yahoo Groups and encouraged you to join the EA. By now you should have received my e-mail with my phone number. Be warned that I am often not at home, and you will get an answering machine. I'll try to call back when I can, and answer what questions you may have from my own personal experience, which are (of course) different from others here. YMWV.
