By the way, is there any way for me to block out those wantng to have a private chat with me? In AOL, we can disable IMs (Instant Messages).

Hi Andrew

i take it you are using mIRC to chat with if so then you can't block all pvt messages but you can put people that message you on ignore if you right click on there name it should give you the option to add them to your ignore list that should then block any further messages from them but it will also block messages from them posted to the room

Some one may know of another way if so i would like to hear about it

surely if you dont want to pvt it only means you dont respond to them , then it should be obvious you dont want to chat pvt with them , or just tell them in main lobby, unless they are too dopey to understand,if i pvt any one and they dont answer its ok with me,i dont push it,

I have allways thought it polite to pvt someone i have never spoken to before!

In the UK it is called good manners something that i thought the whole world had.

It doesnt take 2 seconds top ask in main channel if some one is ok for a pvt chat

I personally dont mind either way but there are some people like Andrew that do not appreciat being privated with out asking first so folks could we just ask first

please
