What is all the fascination with the use of Depo-provera??? When there seems to be a safer way and a more efficient way to get the same results. when I was being chemically castrated I used Depo for a while and found that my patasium got really messed up. bad for my heart to say the least. I switched to Androcur and I did a way with all the problems of electrolytes, potasium depletion and ano other dangers. So can anyone tell me why the Depo- resurgence. Think it might be wise to look this over. I also know that for those who castrate themselves with chemicals... now that I am a eunuch... it's not the same being castrated physicall. what happens to the body is, but what happens to the mind isin't. Thoughts questions opininos please. Scottie

Well, Androcur seems like a good drug, but it's not approved by the US FDA. It can be obtained from overseas by mail-order, but it's more expensive, and runs the risk of trouble from US Customs. While Depo has it's hazards, it is available domestically, and one doesn't have to pay shipping costs.

Pel,
I agree with Scottie. I also use inhousepharmacy.com and they usually arrive from the South Seas to my door, in England, in FOUR DAYS!
Once, with a week-end, they took seven days!
Remarkable really - they also sell Spirotone, it's a lot cheaper and works for me.....

I've been an androcur person myself.
Inhousepharmacy seems a little expensive, $133 for 50 50mg androcur tablets these days, but I can attest to very reliable shipping.
I ordered a pack of i think 60 50mg tablets for $86 shipped ($74+12S/H) from healthworldpharmacy.com (most likely generic). They took a few days to ship the order, but we shall see how long it takes to arrive.
Canadapharmacy.com sells 60 50mg of the generic of androcur for $66, but this doesn't help those of you without a perscription.
BTW, anyone know the specifics of why it is not FDA approved? It seems to be one of the anti-androgens of choice in almost all other countries! I vaguely heard word that the FDA was worried about possible mutagenic effects it might have on the liver? Do they have legitimate concerns, or is this just dumb politics?

Depo Prova v Androcur.
I live in england and back in the radical and late 1960's I remember reading in either OZ or International Times (both
underground journals - and excellent) that Depo was being used in some Prisons and other type situations by the UK Government
on prisoners. I was around 15 at the time I read the story I whilst I was fascinated by it I was more horrified that such a thing occured at all - this was against sexual criminals, I'm sure.
The years have moved on, if I was 15 in 1970 well you have my age now...I haven't heard of Depo-Provera for a long time.
I am sure that both voluntary and any non voluntary users will be using Androcur, which is much better - as has been stated, and which is also legal. I, like all users obtain it on prescription and blood liver tests are taken from a period before usage and then monitored regularly (6 months max). Users must for their health
refrain from alcohol. It is an effective and excellent drug which provides perfect results according to my opinion at least.
It seems less than satisfactory that USA users are obliged to purchase and self medicate; the Authorities should be taking the same care and providing the same individual support that should happen in Britain. Probably there are guys here, too embarrased to talk who just purchase on-line ; guys in Europe & UK make
sure you are courageous enough to work with your Dr/MD.
They care for your total health and should not be left unaware
of this treatment. Hopefully Canada and Australia/NZ also
have passed Androcur.
US MDs reading this - please campaign to get this drug passed and ensure patient health is paramount.
