How not to inject yourself

Hello all, I just posted some questions related to my depo provera usage. Now I would like to give some advice about my bad injection experience. About 4 months ago I ordered what I thought was a 3 pack of 150mg depo provera filled syringes from an overseas pharmacy. When my order arrived I had 9 50 mg vials and 9 insulin syringes which have considerabely shorter needles. Instead of attempting to purchase the right syringes I thought I could get away with the short ones. My starting dose was 450 mg, then my plan was to see how much I would need later on. I did my best to inject the depo provera throught the fat layer of my buttocks and into my muscle, but unfortunatley the needle was to short and I failed. Within 2 days I started to feel the effects of castration. I had low level hot flashes my penis stayed very small about 1/2" and had to be pulled out to pee. I thought everything was going well until I woke up on day 4 feeling extremely fatigued for the whole day. I felt good the next day, but after day 10, I was back to normal and disapointed. Basically what happeded is that I had 450 mg of depo provera in the fat layer of my butt that quickly circulated throughout my body and left within 10 days. The fatigue was caused by to much depo at on time in my system. To all those reading who are interested in using depo provera by all means do, but make sure you do it right or otherwise it will prove to be a waste. From my first experience with the drug, I can only say very positive things about it. My only complaint was that I didn't have enough in me and I didn't stay on it long enough for the full effect.

You really do need an intramuscular needle (at LEAST 1" long) which I understand may be harder to obtain for those who don't work in the medical field.

http://www.pkids.org/admim.pdf this is a pdf file which will teach you how to inject both IM and SQ (intramuscular and subcutaneous). IM is the first page and SQ is the second page. If you have any questions, I'm happy to answer.
