Time for a new FAQ?

Everyone--

I am going to paste in a message I placed on another forum. I am thinking that it may be a good idea to create an up to date FAQ for the eunuch community for the newbies to read before they go off on a expedition here. Something so they have some idea of what to expect from castration, etc. before they go into the chat rooms and ask questions.

I'm willing to write it up, but I'll need to see if there is an intrest here first, then I'll need some volunteers from the various segments of our community to speak in rational tones with me so that we can do something constructive.

Anyhow, here is the message I posted elsewhere. If you don't get it, go down into the biographies board and the original thread is posted there.

O.K. I can understand the points of each person that posted. Perhaps we need a link or something here to post as an FAQ. Those things that are factual could be put in. I think there are enough people here that have had it done that a reasonable FAQ could be put together that answers many of the recurring questions the newbies have.

On another note, I noticed the attitude as well. Of course I got the same attitude from meeunuch about 4-5 years ago when I wasn't ready to just jump up on a cutters table and say, "have at it." This is a VERY difficult decision for many men. I think instead of bickering and inviting questions, then saying you're not going to answer any questions we are doing a disservice to the community as a whole.

If anyone wants to put a good FAQ together, I'm willing to put some time in and ask relevant questions to get it done. I'm even willing to write it up and send it out for review to the interviewees before it's posted. Off the top of my head we could break it into four or five sections covering things from the desire (for those of us that have not done it), to fantasies, to the mechanics behind the proceedures, chemical castration, etc. I'm open for input.

This way only one person receives the information and then it is written up and reviewed by those that contributed.

Anyone have further ideas on this? It's been some years since a real good FAQ was put together for the community.

LT, you are certainly welcome to mine my personal FAQ for information that might be useful for an "Uber-FAQ."

Admittedly most of the info is ten years or more old, but there might be something of use. If so, I'll be happy to read over what is extracted and make any corrections if they are required. If nothing worthwhile for the Uber-FAQ is found in my personal one, that's OK, too; It was always intended as simply personal info.

The idea of the Uber-FAQ is a very good one, and I have suggested that at other times to other persons. I'm pleased that someone is willing to put in the tremendous amount of work required to make the idea viable.

Good luck!

Losethem,

You bring up a very good point to as to why we are all here. I too feel like there should be a FAQ to those questions that have been answered many times over for some of the newbies. I think Andrew has put together a very good list on the effects of castration and should be considered as being included in this. I'm sure many other member would be willing to contribute also as Tomas has already said. Most of the information is probably here somewhere on the archive with a little research, if not it probably would not be too hard to find. I know my situation differs from the majority here, but I'm willing to add my $0.02.

At one time there was a FAQ committee that was attempting to put up just what you speak of Losethem and the software for catagorizing(sp) one is still on the archive.

An FAQ is a great idea and if I had my druthers I would like to see it structured with a question and then answers from different people that have gone through the procedure or are well knowledgeable in the field.

Getting the question pool is where the difficulty might be.

Let me know what you want to do Losethem.

I'm willing to take it on as long as I can use software such as Word or the like to write it up, mostly because it is what I have available.

I'd like to get a breadth of opinions on this. I know there are a few eunuchs, wannabes, and others that could bennefit from something like this. I think my original post is more to try to get something constuctive going.

We can answer or not answer as far as I care, but if a person doesn't contribute, then they have no right to complain. <shrug>

The reason I'm including everyone (including those that are only into the fantasy) is to provide information for as many cross-sections of the community as I possibly can.

In the end I'll just restate that I'll take on the project, but I'll need people to Private message me or leave information for me to contact them if they want to be included. So perhaps a cattle call for input is warranted?

Losethem,

A faq on eunuchism is a great idea.

I can't wait until you have written and posted it.

All the best,

Leon
