Depression:

Yes I have this too, I am not sure that I can add a whole lot to this but many guys that are castrated come down with depression. I have been out of work on disability sense I was castrated. In all fairness, I got an infection and was in the hospital for 5 days and the drugs for the cure upset my stomach and then had an acid reflex attack that put me in the hospital for another 5 days. There is more but it was a down hill kind of thing, this does not happen to everyone. Only some of us are this lucky. I take several drugs for depression and see a therapist every week. It helps.

Remember Depression is a disease just like Osteoporosis or heart conditions, all are treatable.

My therapist asked me the last visit if I regret having been castrated? I told her NO that is the one thing I know was right for me. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Riverwind maby chemical castration is diffrent but i have not suffered from depression yet .Did you have any problems when you were on andercore. The only problems i have is that i seem to get tired and run out of energey. But that could also be the post polio that i have to deal with so i would like to hear from others on this subject.

I too have had symptoms of depression. During each step of HRT, when there was any change in dosage, I would feel some depression for a week or so until my body adjusted to the new level. I have been on a high dose of HRT for several months now and have not had any symptoms since my last increase.

The depression hit after the second hospital stay after I was castrated. About 6 weeks later. By that time I was off Androcur.
