Yes, there is a comment. First, when I became uncomfortably busy at the beginning of last year and arranged for Dr. Kimmel to do the surgeries, we signed a clear agreement that I would receive the patient inquiries, having had a following of many years. Dr. Kimmel is nice and helpful, but he has expressed a very clear statement to me that he is interested in the surgery, but not in having discussions, teaching in regard to the frequent false ideas that patients often have, making arrangements for transportation and lodging when coming for surgery, adjusting problems that often arise for which help is needed. I strongly object to someone making changes in the way he and I do this process. After all, he has a busy urologic practice quite independent of this. An outside person making such a change completely changes things and would cause quite an upheaval to our relationship--neither of us would like it at all. I form an essential part of this
situation, it has previously gone very smoothly, and now exists on a false basis--
that patients do not need to contact me first--but they do. I require that this idea be retracted immediately. I have had cordial, understanding and cooperative
relations with my following thru the past 40 years and resent anyone making this kind of change.
