Reactions etc.

Hi All,
Long time since I have been here.
But having just gotten an invitation to post, I am curious about two things. This past weekend, in a gay bar in a big city in North America, I "outted myself"--more or less. My friend, who went with me, suggested that I do not tell people that I was a eunuch. I am curious to know what sort of reactions people have received when they have told strangers that they are eunuchs.
Also does anyone have a sense for how many gay men in North America are predominately bottoms versus tops? I got the impresson that a gay guy lost complete interest in me at that bar when he found out that I was a eunuch, hence an unlikely top.
But is that typical? What have others discovered/experienced?

Well, interesting enough I am gay but consider myself neither a top nor a bottom.
Maybe that's an interesting side effect of my interest in castration, or perhaps it even plays a part in my interest.
Thanks for coming back and posting. I hope you re-bookmark the site and visit and post more often.
Paolo and I have some exciting ideas for changes to the message board structure to address some suggestions we have gotten over the past few days.

I've found that most boys don't want to discuss another guy's experience of voluntarily having his balls harvested. It's generally much harder to discuss this with strangers or more distant acquaintances than it is with one's doctor.
OTOH, I've encountered no problems whatsoever in the willingness of strangers having sexual relations with a ballless guy as soon as they understand - usually experience - he can still get hard. For a while I was a 3rd in a couple where 1 partner had had his prostate reamed (for medical reasons) and could no longer squirt his jizz as a result. Both partners appreciated to no end that I still squirted and was 'normal' in all respects except the absence of balls. It was interesting that I orgasmed more easily than either of the other 2 intact guys. We played 1x or 2x/week. I'm lucky right now to have a b/f that loves that I'm ballless - even to talk about it - and has castration fantasies of his own. He luvs plugging me from behind as he views my shrunken sac. Both the b/f and myself are versatile. We may be a castrated couple in the not too distant future.

Just keeping the answer to the "gay bar" sort of venue (in this case the "Tacky Tavern" in Seattle), for me, who was not "looking for action" (I'm not gay, just there with a couple of good friends who are), there was a quick sort of "brush fire" of interest in the oddity of the whole thing after one of the bar's gropers did a quick but thorough search and then asked point blank.
Once that small flutter of interest in the odd duck was over, things went right back to normal with me having a few beers, good companionship, and great conversations with a variety of folk.
A bit later we retired to "Changes Too" just up the street for their amature drag show, which was a blast.
We went to the Tacky Tav a number of times because it was an interesting place with some nicely weird denizens we all enjoyed talking to and drinking with.
At the Tacky Tav I especially enjoyed the long haired, bearded guy who was a licensed pyrotechnics expert in the denim short-shorts, fishnets, and knee-high boots; the bartender, who actually looked pretty decent in drag, but had a baritone voice; and the over-done "pre-op TS" who was not ever planning to be post op, the most, but everyone was nice.

Hi Tomas,
Good to get your story.
My guess is that the reason my question, about announcing that one is "coming out as a eunuch," has gotten so few replies here is that so few of the folks who are interested in the world of eunuchdom are real eunuchs, who can speak personally to the question.
I haven't been groped yet. I don't think I'd enjoy that. But your story still is inspiring. As I slowly accept the weird world that I've drifted into, the more I like being in places were being weird is the norm. Your bar experinece sounds like great fun.
I've got a few trips planned over the next few weeks to cities like Toronto and San Francisco. I might try out the experiment; i.e., hit the gay bars and announce that I am coming out as a eunuch. If I don't get beat up, I'll report back here as to how I was received.
I suspect that I will cause more of a shock than you did. You got rid of your beard awhile ago, didn't you? I'm still over six feet tall and fully bearded. If one doesn't notice my breasts, I still look much more butch than fem. I'm guessing that I appear to be more of a top than a bottom. My guess is thus that my eunuch status will be more of a surprise.
But I'll find out.
How about tips from the rest of you? What do you thinking of my selected wording: "Hi. What do you recommend as a celebratory drink for someone who is coming out as a eunuch?" Can I enrich that line?
