What a great series! And THREE chapters in four days! Pueros is an accomplished (and published) writer, and Nero is in the middle of his area of expertise. Part of what makes this story so exciting is knowing that all of the facts are absolutely historically correct. These people really did live at the time and place depicted. Theyre real. The events are real. Pueros has simply (and brilliantly) added the connecting pieces and the dialogue to a pivotal time in Roman history. There is nothing in the story that is necessarily fiction. For all we know, every bit of it could be historically authentic even the dialogue could have been exactly as Pueros has written it.
Heres your chance to step into the first century. See the sights of Imperial Rome from the slave quarters to the palaces. Smell the smells, from fine perfumes to the stench of the sewers. Taste the food and drink. Watch the tortures and bloodlettings from a front-row seat.
Gripping. Especially knowing that all of it could have happened exactly as Pueros has portrayed it!

I agree Pueros' stories do take some reading but they are always historically accurate.
He has penned a lot of other stories which are available. I look forward to each episode.

Just to add my congratulations on a tremendous story.I enjoy historical novels and have read a lot however few if any rival this series. The quality of writting on this archive is of the highest order and not just because I like the subject matter. I am most impressed by the historical detail it reminds me a little of Mary Reynolds who wrote a `Persian Boy` which also stars a eunuch incidently. I think this story is better in every way you should publish!

I feel I must add my vote for Pueros' writings in general, and Nero in particular.
I have had to abandon the reading of Nero temporarily because there is a lot going on in my life and my head right now, but I plan to go back and read the entire thing from the beginning.
As Jesus has already stated, Pueros' skillful weaving historical fact with (Maybe???) fiction is a joy to read. I still think often of The Lycian Prince, the horrible injustices he endured, and I learned a little history in the bargain.

No offence to the other fine writers here, but the first thing I always look for on the new story page is anything by Pueros. Not just the great Nero series, but also the James Bond adventures and my personal obsession The Wish. Keep up the good work!!!

I thank all who've commented on this thread for their kind words. I also pray that they, & other readers of the tale, possess the stamina to follow the lengthy saga to its eventual distant conclusion!
I've just posted chapter 26, so hopefully please enjoy!
