What happens if someone pees on an electric fence?

Well... I haven't peed on an electric fence, but I have installed one, and been nipped by my own work..

Some basics first: An electric fence works by sending a pulse of electricity down the fence every second or so. Each pulse is a couple thousand volts, but only a milliamp or so. Each pulse lasts for a fraction of a second, and the return circuit is the ground (installation of an electric fence involves putting a ground pole at least ten feet into the earth).

That said, the feeling is something like that of being punched in a large area at once, as all the muscles in that area contract involuntarily and violently (for a fraction of a second mind you).

If you were to pee on an electric fence, well I can speculate that it would be feel like being punched very hard in the genitals by a very large fist, and it would, well, fucking seriously hurt! :-O

Well the fences are designed to deliver an uncomfortable up to nasty zap to an animal. It is also designed to be non lethal. So I would surmise you would get a mild to nasty shock when the stream hit the wire. Of course if you had no contact to ground and was wearing moderatly insulating shoes you might not feel a thing.

If you really demand first-hand knowledge, find an active electric fence, wet your finger, then touch it. Imagine the experience on a far more sensitive area and you CAN’T pull loose….

Even when I miss and touch a wire with my bare hand occasionally, I have flashbacks to the REAL pain!

I wonder if there's any cases of people becoming nullified (without dying) as a result of peeing on an electric fence.
