Herbal regimens for partial feminization

Hi, first time posting here I guess... :)

Anyway, I'm what you would call a hypogonadal androgyne, and I'm trying to further reduce my almost non-existant libido and feminize for physical androgynity. I'm currently taking Saw Palmetto, Black Cohosh, Dong Quai and Wild Yam (3000mg/day of each, all are from GNC).

Are there any other good herbals to be taking? My goals are to eliminate testosterone and libido, stop or reduce body hair, (hopefully) shrink genitalia, and breast growth would be good too. :)

It would be a plus if it could be bought in a store, although online is ok as a second option.

Thanks all!

I've been using their Evanesce product (which contains testosterone blockers) for a while now, which has all but eliminated my unwanted spontaneous erections. They also have Feminol, which helps with breast development.

Another product you may find useful is Estrologic. It contains many of the things you say you are now taking. I might add that black cohosh is the only one with a good track record from the scientific medicine point of view.

Another avenue you might want to explore is natural progesterone cream. It can be purchased in the same kind of stores that sell other herbal products. That is, it is over the counter. What I suggest is purchasing a book on the subject and reading up.

Happousi, thanks for the reference. As an interesting aside, I met Lynn Conway several years ago in connection with her work with Carver Mead. The writeup on her was interesting. Anyway, I didn't see the ingrediant list for Evanesce. Apparently they want you to buy some first to get the list.

Do you have it? I am curious as to what is in it.

Hi Glenda :)

The ingredients of Evanesce can be found here:

The ingredients for Feminol can be read too, just look for the links in the description paragraph for each product.

Evanesce and Feminol are starting to look better and better to me all the time. :)

If you want good effects of feminization, I would advise you to be cautious about the herbals that can be bought in the local stores. From the information I had gathered when I first started HRT, the herbals lack in consistancy from one brand to the next. Also, the amount you need to take, is much higher than recomended. I decided that prescription medicine was the best choice for me. Only until a few months ago I had heard of Evanenesce and Feminol. I checked out the web site, and it seems these are a much more refined and potent version of the store bought brands. The price wasn't too bad either. If you don't want to go the presription method and want to use the herbals, I would check into the Evanesce and Feminol before wasting money on the store brands.

Hi again Glenda :)

I've been meaning to ask, can you tell me some good stores for progesterone cream? I guess there must be some variability between brands, so who's got good product?

Thanks!

Pel2, there is a great website on feminisation herbs here:

Could you tell me what effect the herbs you are taking now are having? Thanks.

All the best,

Leon

Well, I had to cut back on the dosage.. 3000mg/day was driving my stress level and emotions through the roof (and I'm supposed to be "undercover" at work, for what that's worth). So 2000mg/day for now, and I'll see what.

Physically, it's made my skin softer, and there has been a very slight breast growth. On the down side, the hair on my head now grows faster, and it's started to affect my muscle strenth (and I have an extremely physical job that requires endurance and stamina, so I'm going to have to work harder to keep my endurance up)

I've noticed my thinking is growing much more towards the female way - being androgynous, my emotions and attitudes have always been a mix, but in my case would tend a little more towards male. But with the herbals, that balance is beginning to tip towards feminine.

I guess I'll have to wait and see what's in store...

Pel2,

I don't know what brands of Natural Progesterone Cream may be best. You can buy it, however, at any "health food" store as well as many mainline stores. As I mentioned, there are books available at many of the stores that sell it which go into its effects in more detail.

Here is site you may want to check out.
