How does a rock group named the "Dead Peckers" strike anyone?

What would be their hit song?

I mean, if Kate Smith had "Moon over Miami"

what would the Dead Peckers sing?

"I can't get it up, I can't get it up, I cant get up in the morning..."

Empty Sack

Of course, their first big hit would be a collaboration with Santanna. It would be called "Smooth .... down there".

The Big Sarge

Wasn't there a song titled The Woodpecker's Ball?

How about a group named the "Banging Bullocks"

Or Aunt Fanny's Fabulous Furry Freak Show and Hand Bag"

That might be TOO British for the USA.

Remember that song "my sharona" by, I believe, the Kinks?

" I gotta get it up....." Maybe they were singing about their hard time getting hard ons.

The hit song for that new group would probably be "I shot it into the Sherrif, but I would not to the Deputy" ;)

...I never paid much attention.

Most young rock stars have had no problem in that area, what with being chased by groupies and others looking like Britney Spears and all...

Have YOU ever heard the song "LOLA"

....'bout some dude picking up a transvestite....

That's where I fear that I would become "deflated" when I found out...

😄 A-1 😄

Dave: It was "Woodchopper's Ball" by Woody Herman's big band. (Sounds like a penectomy to me!)

dolphinracer: "My Sharona" was by The Knack(one hit wonders), not the Kinks ... you were off by about 10-20 years. The Kinks did Lola ... about an encounter with a transvestite, in the early 70's, but they had been recording for several years at that point.

Don't forget that there is an actual group out there called "Squirrel Nut Zippers". ... Sounds like scars on an empty scrotum to me.

Now I remember woodchoppers ball -

I grew up on Big Band and Nightclub music.

I ought to hang my head in shame!!!

And yes, a Squirrel Nut Zippers might be stitching on a scrotum. . . I once had 44 staples over 11 inches of my stomach to repair a hernia and scar tissue from an appendectomy. That really looked like a zipper. . . You know the guy thing of HERE, YA-WANNA SEE MY SCAR? I GOT A ZIPPER IN MY STOMACH!!!!!

Another new group is Cherry Poppin' Daddies whose album titled "Zoot Suit Riot" has a few songs with queasy, sexual lyrics (incest!)
