Nasal spray testosterone

Some while back I seem to remember reading a post about a nasal spray testosterone. But i can't remember the name of the spray and i can't find the post. I was wondering if anyone here knew anything about a trt that was in the form of a nasal spray.

There was also a 'related search' saying discontinued, and that got me (among others)

Wheely, if i can get all the paperwork straight, i hope to be castrated before Labor Day. If not, then soon thereafter. Looking to eliminate or severely deminish sex drive. Know i don't want full hrt, but figured i might need a little somethin somethin. Don't want feminisation. Maybe hold back some negatives. What is best?

Results seem quite variable and unpredictable, so 'best' may need some experimenting... I've seen post-surgery reports ranging from still having libido / ability while hormone free, to no interest / ability w/ TRT to 'normal' levels... It is important to remember that sex drive is as much or more a 'brain function' than a function...

That said, and I have NOT read any of the info on Natesto beyond what I mentioned above, but I'd be concerned about the stuff I found. Before I started on getting fixed I was using a gel (NOT Androgel, I think it was Fortesta or a generic equivalent) and it worked reasonably well. It has the advantage of being pretty easy to adjust dosage and easy usage. Reportedly it's expensive if your insurance won't cover it.... It also has the risk of 'cross-contamination' to partners, children or those that do your laundry unless you take (fairly easy) steps to avoid it.

Injectables are cheaper, but reportedly can have a 'roller-coaster' effect especially with longer time spans between shots.

I've been using estradiol patches since I was chemically castrated, and have been happy with them. I haven't gotten a lot of feminizing beyond bigger boobs, which still seem to fall w/in the 'normal male' range, at least w/ a shirt on, albeit on the big size... Injectable E does the same thing, and is cheaper. Oral E (birth control pills) is NOT recommended because it needs a much bigger dose and is harder on the liver because of it needing to be processed through the digestive tract...

There are also "SERM's" - "Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators", that are supposed to provide the physical / mental benefits of E or T based HRT, but not do as much feminizing (they were originally developed and used for women w/ certain hormone responsive cancers) However my doc didn't want to give me those because they have a higher risk of blood clots (which I'm at risk of because of my SCI) than E....

I'd say the HRT question is definitely something that you really need to discuss with your TG doc and / or endocrinologist, including your desire to reduce sex drive.

I totally agree with Wheely. If you just want to diminish sex drive, you may wish to discuss with your TG doc / endocrinologist about your goals and concerns. Getting under the knife is irreversible and final. You may wish to check out different options first.
