Not a question.

This is just an observation that post op (orchidectomy/scrotectomy), I have found my gait has changed, and getting back into exercise has been an interesting experience (more than just "getting back into exercise").

Again, this is a statement not a question. I thought it useful to make a record of this, seeing as (whether others have written about it or not) the experience was not salient enough for me to have expected it prior to the surgery.

A gate change is rather generic. In what way has it changed? I'm not asking in disrespect. I was scheduled for Dr. A. In December, but life happens (aka didn't realize passport had expired until too late). Then I had seen (and reached out to you) that you had seen him & everything had gone well. My 2 concerns were recovery time and TRT. Mainly because I'm a welding instructor and walk about 9½ miles a day between classrooms and the lab, plus my issues are medical and I'm petrified that the downstairs elevator will no longer work if I go through with it. Castration doesn't scare me, inability to perform does. I would love to be able to perform without pain....however....back to walking 9½ miles a day...this gait change comment definitely has my ears pricked..do tell...

I think in my case it is to do with hip joint rotation. My sister used to be a ballerina, so the best way I can relate to explaining it is to say I used to have what she termed "natural turnout", and now I don't.

Everybody is different, and while there are plenty of others that have been active in EA longer than I have, I think this thread is the first time I've seen anyone mention a change in gait... Plenty have said they are more comfortable walking, bicycling, etc., after recovery, but that I recall Magus is the first to mention an actual gait change... (I certainly didn't, but that's probably because I don't have any gait...)

What level of bit removal / sort of surgery are you planning, and how long will you have to recover before you'd be expected to get back to the extensive walking? Do your bosses know about the planned surgery and will they be willing to make any accommodations for you?

FWIW, from what I've seen from others, and my own experience, I'd figure on being down for about a week after a simple (via the scrotum) orchie, and another week or two of limited activities... Double that for orchie + scrotectomy (IMHO the scrotectomy was more painful and took longer to get over than the orchie) and much longer for a penectomy... If they want to do an inguinal orchie, then you will also have a longer recovery, as that is more on the order of a serious hernia surgery.
