Botox in penis root?

I'm a nullo, but I could enjoy myself more if I had less erections (in the base of the penis that was left)

Can botox help reduce them? is it even effective on erectile tissue?

Thoughts?

Hi Wannabe,

I've never heard of anyone using botox for your situation, but that's probably because there aren't very many nullos. You might try it and be the first to report on it's effect. Did you have a total penectomy where the penis is cut off at the pubic bone? That's my case. I have approximately three (3) inches of penis left which includes mostly the roots that fork or divide. I use a testosterone gel from the VA and like you, these small stumps get erect. If you have more stump then that, you can get it removed like I did.

Yes it's total. The area is smooth, and a small bump can be apparent when erect.

Another surgery to get rid of the root is something that can suit me. But I'd rather not try to "fix" things that already turned out very good. in General I'm very happy with the appearance of it.

It's just the erection. That's sometimes a bit painful of uncomfortable or too firm.

It's an interesting question, and I don't know if anyone would have an answer... AFAIK, Botox isn't something that is easy to get outside 'proper medical channels' but is relatively safe in terms of causing other complications. The closest use I'm aware of is that it is sometimes used to treat certain types of incontinence caused by a spastic bladder....

That said, and I am not a doc, but I'm not at all sure it would work. My understanding is that Botox primarily works by paralyzing larger muscles and erections are caused by blood vessels constricting, so possibly not the same mechanism, and I have no idea if Botox would work on both...

Might be worth talking with your docs and seeing what they have to say... They might be willing to use you as a test subject, Alternatively they might have other things they can suggest trying. I'd certainly consider further surgery to be a 'last resort' proposition.

First off, I’m not a physician…the closest I can claim to being one is that I was partnered to one for several years, he did Botox injections, and I accompanied him to a few seminars in beautiful places where I sat beside him, ate great food, and listened to “education” on the use of Botox and dermal fillers. I purposely used quotes in that last sentence because you’d be amazed at how little training physicians receive in the use of injectables. Possibly the assumption is that they learned the basics of anatomy and technique in medical school and residency.

Injecting Botox could have exactly the opposite effect of what you’re after. Botox is a neurotoxin that causes paralysis of smooth muscle cells; in other words, it places them into a relaxed state. Erections are caused by the relaxation of smooth muscle cells that allow blood flow from the cavernous artery into the corpus cavernosa and spongiosa. Thus, paralyzing these muscles might make erections more likely to occur, not less, and in fact Botox has been used off-label for erectile dysfunction.

There are urologists who use Botox for this and other purposes, so you might want to find one (even one who is online) and inquire. At least that way you’ll know for certain. Good luck!
