Diabetes and Castration.

I had a surgery date set to be castrated in June. I had to get a general dr. To say it was ok for me to be put under. Long story short, I'm on 3 bp meds and being treated for diabetes. Insulin dependant. I've been fighting other battles. I canceled the surgery. However, my sex drive is still crazy. I've read that it is a bad idea to be castrated if you are diabetic. I was wondering if anyone here was castrated as a diabetic and could tell me more?

I don't think I've seen anything saying that diabetes was a contraindication for getting ✂️🔪, but I could be mistaken.

I have seen some mentions to the effect that being castrated MAY increase the risk of developing diabetes... However it is not at all clear whether this is due to the castration itself or some other factors like the increased body fat and lower activity that many guys experience afterwards...

Testosterone help regulate blood sugar in men.

Per WebMD: Testosterone helps the body's tissues take up more blood sugar in response to insulin. Men with low testosterone more often have insulin resistance: they need to produce more insulin to keep blood sugar normal. As many as half of men with diabetes have low testosterone, when randomly tested.

I cured my type 2 diabetes and high BP with a carnivore diet, exercise and weight loss.

Have you been castrated? Was this before or after the cut? I was wondering if anyone here had been cut as a diabetic and what effects it had. Thank you. My sugar levels are getting better as I manage them better.

I haven't been cut, although I had low T which led to near Osteoporosis. Years on T and a few years on bone building meds like Boniva helped get the bones stronger again.

Although its been 15 years of TRT so I imagine if I missed my shot I'd drop off to Eunuch levels shortly.

Not quite a direct connection, but there isn't much if any direct data on males that have been fixed but still on T based HRT... The Transfeminine website is somewhat relevant since it is dealing with those doing an M->F transition which in some ways is like what we are doing, especially if using estrogen based HRT.... I looked on there doing a search on 'diabetes low testosterone' https://transfemscience.org/search/#gsc ... stosterone and got several links in the results, but none looked directly relevant from the titles - I looked at one and found it seemed to be showing as a link because of "diabetes" in the references...

That said, I found these which at first scan look like they might be somewhat relevant if you can figure out the medicalese and translate it to normal English...

Take it for what it's worth...
