Am I alone in being offended by the over usage of the F-Bomb on TV? That stuff used to be aired only on pay TV or late night. Now it's everywhere.

Am I alone in being totally tired of hearing adults start every sentence with "And I'm Like?"

Am I alone in being tired of hearing people order food and drink by saying "Let's do a Diet Pepsi", or "I think I'll do a taco?"

Still remember the look on my parents faces when I first used the F word, it was priceless. (Was over 50 years ago!) Now, what does annoy me is people constantly saying “you know” when they are speaking. Why? For F§¥k sake!

I don't stream/view much new stuff anymore.

I did, however, lose my love of New Star Trek when Picard had an Admiral drop the F-bomb.

I have not really noticed it in the few other newer shows/movies I have watched.

I don't care to hear it used as every other flavoring word in conversation, either. One of my adult nephews can't seem to go 3 words without using it, so I don't speak to him much anymore.

I have a bad habit of using the F-Bomb, which I am trying to break. My professional life started out in prisons for 13 years before I quit. Every 13th or 14th word was Sh--, Da--, or Fu-- in those places. I quit a long time ago (over 30 years), but I still have those words creep in. Fortunately, most people realize it has become a common place thing, and overlook it.

Until you hear a sweet, innocent looking 8 year old at the baseball field call someone "you fuckin' dick-smoker!"

In the family of my parents, obscene words were never used, and I myself did not have the habit of using them ...

Friends slightly teased me about this and tried to teach me not to be shy in expressions :).

Paolo, have you tried watching Lower Decks? It's really quite fun, but not entirely frivolous.

Answers to your questions...

1. Fuck no! It's fucking everywhere.

2. "And I'm like..." Gosh, fuck that! I'm like, why do they need to do that?

3. People doing food? They're just sexually frustrated they haven't been able to fuck anything in a along time, so they're resorting to diddling food.

No spoilers please... I just started watching that, on Episode 3 of the first season/series.

Though having lived there for 4 years, as did Riverwind at one point, I understood full well why the Captain revealing the hometown or Ensign Boimler was funny. It truly is a horrible place to be from.
