New registrations, etc.

Just yesterday got home from what was supposed to be a convention (of Sorts). I usually present at one or more of these, but not this year. We always post our email address and PO Box address here, so that folks are able to find us. Sometimes I will get a direct mailing from someone seeking more information, but is too stunted by rigid, conservative mores, and are afraid to act on their desires. I encourage such folks to utilize our PO Box address and email address -- sometimes I will get inquiries which I am able to answer. Those I cannot answer, I usually refer them and their letter to someone who can help. There have been some quiet inquiries which I can answer. Sometimes I will make a referral to a clinician or transgender. clinic

I am doing a lot of resting now. Two weeks ago, I lost my balance/equilibrium, and took a nose dive into a sidewalk. Fortunately the evening watchman at The medical center saw it happen, and had an ambulance very quickly. I was fairly well healed when this past weekend, I lost my balance again and nose dived into a sidewalk. 2 or 3 days in the hospital finally convinced me to agree to the use of a walker - damned inconvenient, but I will do it. A total of 4 serious falls in the past 3 months has put a bit of a damper on my activities; horrible for someone who is almost always active and walking with a cane, able to get around well.

Oh well, I look forward to hearing from you -- new sign ups, letters, contributions. I like getting mail from you'al.

Happy you are on the mend and doing what you have to stay that way

Sorry to hear you are having issues, and I hope they resolve. Are the doctors doing any investigation into what is causing the problems? (OK if you don't want to do details...)

Of course perspectives differ - I'd LOVE to be able to use a walker! 😄

FWIW, my GF also uses a walker, and tells me that that senior citizen trope of the tennis balls on the walker feet really does help w./ traction, so it is worth doing (it also saves wearing out the actual feet on the walker - used tennis balls are easier to get and cheaper (free!))

Once after the injury, I had a problem with my legs. I first waited a couple of months for the bones to grow together and so that the so-called "false joint" did not form.

I used regular crutches...

Only later, when the X-ray showed that the bones had healed, did I begin to learn to walk on my own again, using a walker at the beginning.

Yes, I sometimes get dizzy, but that's normal. The main thing is to gradually increase the load, to measure the reaction of the body, it is not necessary to force an increase in the load.

I wish you a full recovery!
