Figured I'd make an account on here just cause it seemed like the thing to do, I'm already a niche internet microcelebrity in a very particular overlap of kinky furry twitter, as well as in some private chatrooms and occasionally on Reddit (but not often).

I got neutered pretty young, apparently, although definitely not as young as I'd have liked - I'd been wanting my balls gone since I knew that was even a thing that could happen, although I only really started getting properly INTERESTED in it once I learned that there was an actual, safe, legal path to it, around 18 or 19. By age 20 I was in the pipeline for trans HRT, got it in November 2019, and... then I ended up staying there for entirely too long cause I didn't know my therapist could write the letters, I thought it had to be a doctorate-holding one not just an LCSW.

Anyway, at that point I felt extremely stupid but was finally on track, letters in hand, after playing phone/email tag for a week with the one trans surgeon in my state I FINALLY got a consultation booked. 2 months later, tell Dr Witten what I want, I ask for local blocks but we compromise on a spinal tap, get paperwork sorted, and 3 weeks later my mom's driving me to the hospital an hour away. Everything goes beautifully, ahead of schedule, I got to be awake and feel everything which was absolutely amazing (I didn't tell anyone that I have a family resistance to numbing agents so it just felt like my legs fell asleep), got through recovery feeling fine other than hungry, mom got me Wendy's afterwards, was one of the best days of my life.

Fast forward a year and change, here I am. A transfem-leaning eunuch who's dead set on proving everyone's ideas about life as a eunuch wrong. My body count's tripled, things downstairs still work fine (because my libido has been stable and erectile function is use-it-or-lose-it), I have a job where I'm out to my coworkers, live with my intact trans GF, life as a eunuch has definitely been good to me.

Anyway, I'm Len and that's my story. LTL, FTP and all that.

Welcome to the forums, glad to hear that the process worked relatively well for you, and that your life is good.

I mean, it didn't work THAT well and if v8 had been out and implemented when I figured out this was what I wanted, a good 4 years ago, I coulda gotten here a LOT faster than I did. It was a 5 month wait, IN THE US and at an informed consent clinic to get on HRT and it ended up being way longer than it needed to be because I kept hearing people say letters for surgery had to be from a doctor... It was to the point I was seriously contemplating DIY stuff and got so far as buying things to do it, studying up on the procedure, etc. but I never got far just because I couldn't figure out how to get the anaesthetic to work... Probably for the best that I got it from a real surgeon though, just sad that the hospital mandated I send the orbs to pathology, cause a foil baggie of microscope slides as a medical memento is just not worth keeping around vs a couple sample jars of your own organs.

It's why I said "relatively well".... No question that it took longer than you wanted, or should have, but you WERE able to get it handled by medical people eventually, and before SOC 8 was officially out (though I believe it was at least being worked on and there was some distribution of draft versions) That is a lot better than many here have experienced.

I'm still in waiting mode, though my situation is a lot different from yours, and does seem to be moving a little faster... At least according to my TG doc, much of the remaining delay (she doesn't think it could happen before July) is a combination of waiting for insurance mandated time on chemicals, and the delays in getting almost anything scheduled in the way of non-critical medical care... So things appear to be getting somewhat better...

Microcelebrity? You are too modest. Great to see you here :]

Well, I'm actually back on HRT again cause I stopped procrastinating taking my E shots but really the only difference I can tell is that my boobs retain water when I'm on it and I get the period shits and migraines on Fridays (and Saturdays if I forget to do my shot on time) so it's high key tempting to just quit taking it again. I'm only, like, a week back on em anyway, and I WAS actually on em when we hooked up at MFF, I'm kinda just ambivalent to whether or not I'm on HRT cause it's kind of a tradeoff. I like the boobs, I don't so much like the bad that comes with it.

Have you ever tried using the E patches instead of the shots? I use them and they are pretty simple, just peel the old ones off and stick on new ones twice a week. According to my doc, they maintain a much steadier level than the shots do, so no 'periodic' effects...

I've not tried the patches but tbh I'm less than motivated to start, it was enough of a fight getting insurance to cover my injections and I know patches are the hardest E form to get covered. I also like the fact that on injections it's WAY easier to stockpile vials for party favors or rainy days, I've got 3 unopened ones rn plus a half-full one cause they never run out before the 90 day refills hit. Usually if I stay on injections for a bit the baseline level gets high enough that the end-of-the-week symptoms aren't as bad, but I've been told on blood tests that my levels also end up dangerously high at that point, and pills really don't do much for me so I kinda consider this to be the most viable option at the moment. Plus, E shots are regularly stocked in my dosage at most local pharmacies but nobody's even heard of the patch here.
