Not exactly a castration, but should count as

'surgery'.... Oscar Mayer had one of it's famous "Wienermobiles" visiting Las Vegas on a publicity tour, and someone stole it's catalytic converter...

And lots of other links....
This is apparently a growing problem as a stolen cat is worth several hundred dollars to the crooks. Repairing it can cost the victim thousands. One piece of advice I've seen is that you should engrave your vehicle's VIN on the converter as that greatly reduces it's value to the crooks....
(I'm told my Dodge van put the cat inside the exhaust manifold which makes it impractical to steal, it may also be the case w/ other cars as well - check....)

Hey, if River can move to Hawaii, Talula can move to PA close to beautiful Wilmington, Del, but there will still be a need for after dinner (or lunch) catalytic converters on friend's tailpipes.

This sounds more like the vehicle version of a vasectomy. It still works, just not as intended.

They installed the one on my Merc (the British meaning) up near the engine behind a few other things. Makes it darn near impossible to get to without pulling the engine out.

Some years ago, I had a Dodge truck (the good one, for those who know it) where the cat. fell off. I didn't go back for it. We welded in a piece of pipe. Mileage and power went way up, too! Then again, we don't have inspections here.

I end up in beautiful Wilmington, DE once or twice a year, and into that part of PA nearby. It's gorgeous. I even get personal tours from a member of one of the most famous families in the area, so I get to learn about, see things, and go places the general public doesn't.

By the nullo definition, certainly.

It's truncated just like the urinary system is for a nullo. The rest of it just laying there completely useless once detached.
