How many creatures, (with men being the best example) get a new name once Castrated? Men become Eunuchs, Bulls become Steers, Horses become Geldings Sheep and goats become Wethers, and Roosters become Capons.
How many other things get new names after being Cut?

If I didn't confuse anything, then it's worth adding:
boar - male pig;
barrow - a castrated boar

(L'espirit d'escalier -- I only thought of this as soon as I clicked post...)
It brings a new meaning to "I like the cut of your gib..."

There are many key differences between Ox vs bull. For example, bulls are always male while oxen can be either male or female. Oxen breed for entirely different purposes than bulls. Bulls are bred for their bloodline and continuation of a herd of cows, while oxen are bred for heavy duty work, such as pulling and transportation. This also leads to a significant difference in the price or cost of these two animals.

I did not know the word "gib" until now, thanks for the info. Your post reminded me of the scene in the great movie "The Mask of Dimitrios" where one of the characters had a pair of cats called "Abelard" and "Heloise" and I wondered how many viewers would have known the significance of naming a cat (formerly tomcat) "Abelard."
