Can I ask why there are not new stories published oin the archive?

Because no one is writing any.

I recollect that in one of the papers that Jesus has posted, he made comments to the effect that 'castration fiction' (i.e. almost everything in the stories) was in the same sort of state that 'transgender fiction' was before there were 'medically supervised / acceptable' options for transition care.

He said that he sort of expected that we would see a similar change in our stories as it became more possible to get cut 'legitimately'... Given that SOC 8 now makes it possible, at least in theory, I'm wondering if that is why we are seeing fewer new stories?

As it's now December, and this thread is soon to join all the other Ghosts of Story Threads Past, I'll just leave this thought here.

Over the years, The Archive has seen a good number of terrific writers who have freely submitted hundreds of stories. Their only rewards, which they knew in advance of submitting them, would be reader feedback.

The question was just posed here: Why no new stories?

The answer is simple, as I said: No one is writing any.

Do we really need to ask why no one is writing any?

For more years than I care to think about, I checked the holding tank more than once a day and posted new material almost every day. Yes, those were the days.

I miss many of my favorite authors/old friends who don't send in stories any more.

Also, let's not dismiss Bella's Herculean efforts in restoring stories we thought lost. They may be old, but they're still part of the Archive.
