Resutls after Orchi, Some Just Unexpected, Some Troublesome

I asked a question in another forum. Ive included it and one persons answer below. Maybe someone has some more ideas about this.
hi. I just read this thread and find it very confusing. I hope you don't mind my asking questions pertaining to genital anatomy and effects of surgery. I know very little on the subject and hopefully answers might be helpful for others too.
I had an orchi 5 months ago. my results seem to be different from what might be expected. .. the main thing is that there has been no erection at all since surgery. of course I'm grateful but from what I've heard, this is surprising. there has been slight beginnings of an erection but still very soft and at a certain point it seems as if it just gives up and I don't know if it's imagination, but I feel a letting go and the blood rushing away. I won't try to self stimulate in such situations because I'd hate it if I could get erect, but it sure feels like it can't - like it will no longer happen.
Next, I have a numb area about where the testicles used to be. it seems to vary in area from day to day and on occasion reaches a couple inches down my right inner thigh. also the entire area has a soreness that is always fairly uncomfortable.
to me this all sounds contrary to what I've read here and elsewhere pertaining to nerves and ability (after orchiectomy) but I do suspect I'm misunderstanding things. I hope someone can help. I wonder about lack of hormonal changes as well. (i do feel peace in my brain but my body seems to have no changes at all. but the testicles are gone so why these strange results? fairly confused.
thanks
Hi dee2essohkay -- I don't know much about castration, but your experience sounds unusual. Have you asked in the castration forum? The people there may have better answers to your specific problems. I hope you'll get it sorted!
I'm not sure the following info helps very much with your situation, but what's being discussed in this thread is destroying the function of the penis, but without castration. Cutting the dorsal nerve leads to numbing (reportedly about 90% loss of sensation). The corpora cavernosa fill with blood when you're aroused, which causes an erection. Destroying them means no ability to have an erection. The penis will be completely flaccid, have lost most of its internal structure, so basically just a soft noodle.
I am really bothered by the numb areas and the continuing soreness in the area. Im wondering if during my orchi, I had some unplanned area nerve damage. I am definitely very happy with no more sexual response down there. Ive been free of erection and orgasm for 5 months and its great. This is something to celebrate. but Im wondering if any of the pain and numbness can be corrected. My urologist didnt seem in the least bit alarmed and offered no help except to suggest ibuprofin or acetaminifin. Im wondering if anyone has any ideas on the subject.
