The best way to protect bones and mental health without TRT or breast growth?

Post by 4everLimp (imported) »

My doctor currently has me taking an injection of 200mg Testosterone Cyp. every 10 days. She also has me taking .25mg of Anastrozole daily to expel any excess Estrogen. This has helped with my mood, focus and depression but has totally ruined the satisfaction and the body I got while without Testosterone for the 3 years I was T free. I want to stop these medications asap as they are driving me crazy. I was voluntarily castrated because of the feelings T caused me and now I'm back at that same place!!! My question I guess is what can I take to be T free but protect my bones, ward of some of the depression, and improve the mental fog I had? Will 1mg estrogen daily do this without causing breast development? That is the only thing I am trying to avoid at this time is the breast development and bone density loss. I am currently on an antidepressant and this has helped greatly Any input from the community would be greatly appreciated. Also is 1mg estrofem a viable option? or what else can I do? Thank you soo much!

I'm somewhat in a similar place. but I absolutely won't go on T. and I'm afraid of blood clots with estrogen however my endocrinologist says taking it can be done safely. to me, I secretly would love breast growth but it definitely would cause issues. I'm presently waiting since I'm seeing my urologist shortly about some neeed surgery and estrogen may play in. but I'm always trying to learn more and if I get more information, I'll let you know. and btw, i am taking vit D3 5000 units for bone density and i’ve tested normal for bone density as well. eat foods with plenty of calcium too.

I currently take 125mcg (5,000IU) of D3 daily as well. But this T Is driving me back to that dark place I was in before I began my self destructive journey that eventually led to castration. The hair, the smell, the erections, the thoughts, the feeling of my body being wrong again, the oil on my skin, the way I look at others, my entire world seems wrong on this medicine. I seem to have no control over my thoughts or feelings, it's like the T is driving everything. I am determined to end my reliance on the T but I just want to do it safely. And unfortunately at this time in my place in my career I have to avoid the breast development. Please let me know anything you learn. Thank you.

The option I've been talking about w/ my doc, and need to reach a decision soon is to look at SERM's - Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators. They are supposed to have the bone health benefits of estrogen, with less of the feminizing side effects... Might be worth talking to your care team about this option.

This is an interesting paper I've found https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10 ... 01364/full, especially "table 1"... It doesn't mention eunuchs, but some of the 'non-binary' types they talk about sound a lot like us... From the table, it looks like the '3rd generation' versions will be the best for bone health...

Obviously doing the right thing w/ supplemental D3, calcium, etc. is also important. FWIW, my previous endocrinologist (he passed me on to the TG center doc as she has more experience in this area) said that Calcium Citrate is the best option as the body metabolizes it better than some of the other varieties you find on the vitamin shelves.

i hear that age can limit how much breast growth there will be. i’ve had no estrogen yet so no breast growth. they say there could be some even with just no T but no real growth that i can detect (though i may have done some significant damage to my testicles several yeas ago and there was some breast growth then). i have a feeling i won’t have much and i’m retired so work is not a problem but still i have it in the back of my mind how thrilling it might be.

I have been told the same thing by my doc, that the older one is when castrated the less breast growth is likely... I'm glad of that because I am really not wanting more feminizing than I have to, and IMHO breast growth is the biggest issue in that department.

I have taken it and it works wonders!!!! It raised my blood a calcium numbers back into normal range. Its pricey but my Doctor recommended it to raise my calcium levels and it worked perfectly. Just now looking for something to help keep my mind clear and allow me me to ward off some depression. I would recommend K2 to every eunuch on this site. She took my labs before and after and there was a huge difference. Thank you for reminding me of that!!!

I’m currently on multivitamin, D3, B, magnesium and two calcium tablets. I’m doing fine on these.

Never heard about K2, but sounds interesting, something I’ll look further into.

I take a multivitamin and mineral complex containing three tablets (taken separately):

Calcium + (D3, B5, B12, K1, folic acid, biotin, chrome, calcium);

Antioxidants + (A, E, C, B2, PP, B6, magnesium, manganese, selenium, molybdenum, iodine, zinc);

Iron + (B, C, A, iron, copper).

Vitamin K2 is found in the yolks of bird eggs. The daily norm is two chicken eggs.

I do without hormones, but I eat meat.
