While this post is not about castration, the link below does show the possibly fatal consequences of using a cutter and a circular saw to achieve your desired body mod:

Circular saw used to cut man’s leg off, murder charges laid

FEBRUARY 20, 2022

A man has died and another has been charged with murder after an alleged horrific late-night “arrangement” involving a circular saw in northern Queensland.

Police will allege the two men, who were known to each other, drove together to Fitzgerald Park in Innisfail and sat under a tree at 3.48am on Saturday.

About 20 minutes later, the men’s alleged “arrangement” turned grisly.

Police say a 36-year-old man used a circular saw to cut off a 66-year-old Innisfail man’s leg below the knee.

The younger man helped the older man back to a car before he fled the scene on foot after allegedly using the older man’s own saw to carry out the botched amputation.

The older man was found by passers-by in the street and was pronounced dead when emergency services arrived a short time later.

The younger man was charged with murder on Sunday morning, and is due to face the Innisfail Magistrates Court on Monday.

Detective Acting Inspector Gary Hunter said police would allege the men were known to each other, but the nature of the relationship was still under investigation.

“Police also believe there was an arrangement between the two people for the amputation of the leg,” Detective Hunter said.

“During my 34 years as a police officer, I’ve never experienced a situation as we are presented with here.”

Detective Hunter could not speculate on whether drugs were involved, or provide any detail about the exact nature of the arrangement.

I'm kind of skeptical about the murder charge. When the younger man left, the older man was alive, and was alive when the rescuers found him. It was apparently a consensual amputation. I'd think the most the guy would get in the US is a manslaughter charge, and perhaps only grievous bodily injury.

This in no way means I condone what happened, but this just reeks of lets throw the book at the younger guy and see what sticks.

That, and I want to know what leg it was. That can make a big difference. If it was the left one, there may be a rationale for why the guy wanted it gone.

From the little bit of information in the news article, this seems very much like a case of Body Integrity Dysphoria (classification 6C21 in the ICD-11)1 We know from work by neuroanatomists that BID is a brain “mis-wiring” problem in the sensory cortex of the right parietal lobe. The sensory cortex does not properly recognize a body part as part of the body, but as an attached foreign object. The most commonly effected body part for males is the genitals. Second most common is left leg, especially below the knee. For females, the most common body part is the left leg.

The new WPATH Standards of Care 8th edition (due out soon) will consider BID as sufficient reason for proper surgical removal of penis and testicles. We can’t go in and rewire the brain, so it’s the only known “cure.” It’s a long overdue revision of the SoC.

Say what now?

Say what now?

See Jesus' post above; wanting the left leg, specifically, removed is an indicator of a known 'wiring' difference in affected person's brain.

I can understand the injured person...

But it doesn’t fit in my head how the young man mentioned above could agree to subject a person to such an execution.

They are many reasons a murder charge fits the crime. The perp didn't render aid, in fact he abandoned the victim leaving him to die. And the next legal issue comes down to consent, which is a subject debated in ethics classes all around the world. Can someone consent to being hunted in a field as if they are prey? Can someone consent to removal of human freedom and rights? Is someone who consents to such a dangerous proposition of sound mind? If not can the perp be convicted of abusing the mentally deficient? Finally, regardless of consent there is respect to responsibility, do you have the skill to carry out someone's consensual request with reasonable risk to that person's life? I can see murder, not murder one, but for sure murder two.
