I Can't Stop Smilin' :D

Post by grapesoda19 (imported) »

Hey All,

Just got back from my consultation at UVA...and it went perfect! Very awesome people! They have heard of nullification and as the one doctor said "you are in the right place". :) I did a happy dance 3 times. :D It's totally something he can do. He had a urologist and a plastic surgeon in the room as well. He said, when they do surgeries (they do all manner of Transgender surgeries there) they want everything to look exactly like it should be, so they bring everyone in.

The only minor (so very minor) speedbumps are the second letter (required) and waiting on insurance. Yes, I might be able to get this done WITH insurance. :D The extra doctor letter is being worked on, we are actively talking about it, so that is not a problem. My doctor is just taking her time because she knows the "weight" of the surgery and wants to do her due diligence (I would expect no less). I don't see it being a problem.

So, this might be happening before the end of the year. No date is set, I'm just guessing....but....😀D😀D😀D I don't think I've been this happy in a very long time. :D

Congratulations Grapesoda19, I have recently gone thru the same process.

Over the last 3yrs, I have been seeing a new GP. Last Feb2021 I thought I would bring up the subject of totally eliminating my libido. Surprisingly enough he said he was very familiar with the situation since he worked with several MTF patients, I told him I wasn't necessarily interested in transitioning, just wanted the boys shut-off. With little discussion, he started me on Spiro and Finestride, he also set me up with an empathetic urologist.

After about a year, I addressed the urologist that I didn't like the side effects of the drug, but enjoyed the calmer persona.

She said the only real way to eliminate drug side effects was to have an Orchi, I was amazed and all for it. She set me up with an empathetic counselor, one session with him and a date for the surgery was set, for Feb 7.

It's now only a week and a half but so far I love it.

The main surprise, but in barely a year period I started Anti-androgens until having the boys removed.

Good luck in your process, I know I am very happy

Thanks all! :) But wait, there's more!

This morning, I get a call from the doc's insurance/scheduler lady and....I have a tentative surgery date. :D It's for June 2. Now, I say tentative because of insurance, but even she said it was pretty much a given. They (insurance) are just gonna drag it out a little, which is typical. As for the second letter, I am meeting my shrink next Friday (the 24th), so I am going to give her the nudge and I'm sure that will get written. :)

(for the next 500 callers....) But I might actually be moving down to Charlottesville soon. I put in some applications are UVA and UVA Medical Center and I got some VERY quick callbacks and they offer relocation assistance. So, when I'm at the interview on Friday, I'm gonna ask. I might be doing this in a WHOLE 'nother zip code come June. :D

It's all fallin' into place. :D
