2022 MoM (Meeting of Members of the EA community)

Saturday/Sunday, July 30 & 31 at the home of Talula (Minneapolis suburb)

Thursday, July 28 for an evening BBQ in Kristoff's backyard for those who show up early (Kristoff may be moving, so stay tuned)

Friday, July 29 TBD, although we've always had interesting excursions in the local area

MOM 2022 – The Annual Gathering of the Clan



The dates are set; and planning is underway. The Annual Gathering of the Clan will be from Thursday, July 28th through Sunday, July 31st in the Greater Minneapolis/St Paul area. The main gathering will be on Saturday/Sunday with optional events on Thursday and Friday. All registered members of the Eunuch Archive are invited to attend.

The annual Meeting of Members (MoM) centers on Saturday and Sunday at the home of Talula, Gem, and Spot, their cat, just outside the Twin Cities. It is a relaxed, easy-going atmosphere, with plenty of stuff to eat or drink. There are usually a few elements of business to take care of regarding the Archive – all are welcome to participate and to provide their input. The Archive has been running for over 20 years, and we need to figure out where our future is headed. What things we need to add, or do different, with the Archive. All are welcome to participate.

Most of the time the atmosphere is conducive to socializing, getting to know one another. Sometimes we may take a side-trip or adventure – one time 6 of us went blueberry picking, which made for great pancakes. Another year we explored Wisconsin cheese factories. It is a time and place to enjoy one another’s company, and where you can bring up for conversation anything on the Archive. It is nice to meet and converse with the folks you see on the Archive.

Since there is only a single small motel in the town where the main event is held, room reservations should be made well in advance. On the Thursday before the get together, we will have a cookout at Kristoff’s convent, for those who desire. On Friday, the day is open to whatever folks want to do: local sightseeing along the Mississippi, local museums, the Mall of America, or someplace else that seems interesting. We’ve seen cheese factories, caves, unusual museums, and so on.

Otherwise, the days are devoted to just enjoying each other's company. It's a place where you can discuss freely with others any topic that has come up here on the Archive. You can put faces to the names you know. There is always plenty of food and drink for all. It's a friendly group and we all seem to enjoy each other's company. That's why we get back together every year.

If you are interested in finding out more, please send a message to either Jesus or Kristoff. We need from you an email address that will accept attachments so that we can send JPEG copies of maps and other information about the event locations. We also need an attendance list to better plan for food and drink.

We’ll gather to celebrate! And toast the end of the pandemic.

Quick question: Is MOM always the last weekend of July? I won’t be able to make this one but, I can purposely reserve and that time for 2023 so I can come. I have only been a eunuch for two years and would really like to meet others.

The MoM takes place during the summer here in Minnesota, usually in July or August. There have been other MoM's held in other parts of the country over the years. Nothing prevents creating another one.

I really wish I could attend this MoM, for the first time for me. But it's a bit too far.

i’d enjoy attending but also for me it is farther than i’d like to travel (and some other reasons as well). i think meeting people in person would be great. if ever an MoM takes place in NYC i’d certainly attend. Maybe some time in the future i could attend in the M/SP area. we’ll see…

It has always been in Minnesota in the Twin Cities area. I doubt it will be doing a roadshow to other places anytime soon. I've not been able to attend, but I think I missed MOM 2018 by about a week. I was going to Minnesota anyway, so reached out and met many of the crew of the mothership while I was in town. If someone is nice enough to organize something, I don't lament it's not in my backyard.

There are several folks in the greater New York area, perhaps you could arrange something for the folks there, Dee2essohkay.

Unfortunately, I'm a tentative no- I'm recovering from surgery. I'm looking forward to next year's event.
