Castration and Sport

Hello all,

The only concern standing in the way of my castration is how I can continue to do sports. I don't want to gain weight or give up sports under any circumstances. Is additional testosterone necessary here in any case? I would like to take as little testosterone as possible. Who has experience with sports before and after castration? What are your recommendations?

Everything happened to me...

There are no obstacles for doing sports!

And what have you done to maintain athletic performance? Do you take testosterone (TRT)?

I meant only my own experience, I did martial arts only as an amateur. I did not participate in competitions, but regularly underwent a medical examination.

Testosterone was taken only occasionally.

Perhaps it would help answer your concerns if you gave a bit better explanation of what you mean by 'do sports'. After all the word sport encompasses a HUGE range of activities, and given the stated effects of castration, I'd expect some of those activities to be more impacted than others... I would expect sports that put a premium on strength and endurance to be much more effected by the effects of castration than ones that are more skill and agility focused....

Another question is if you are thinking in terms of competitive / team sports where your performance is compared with that of others, or is a factor in whether your team wins.

Lastly what 'level' of sports are you talking about - it might be hard to stay competitive at a professional level (and there might be medical issues, or 'doping' concerns if doing HRT) but not make as much difference if at the casual "backyard BBQ" level....

I've never been a jock, so have no good idea how to advise, but these seem like at least some of the factors to consider....

I mean professional sport, which means high-performance sport, also in a team. Sport is one of my essential things in life. I don't want to lose it because of my castration. I have read about professional athletes who had been castrated. My question is directed to eunuchs who do professional sports and can report from practical experience. Specifically, I would be helped if there was someone who could report what they did after their castration to maintain their athletic performance and prevent muscle atrophy, e.g., TRT and what amount, etc.

A lot depends on what kind of sport you do.

You can see for example my thread "Life of a castrated man"
