Nathan9001 and New Story!

Ayzintion City – Mikel Square [G/S]

Nathan9001 has posted a new story! This is cause for alarm, for several reasons.

Nathan doesn't post a new story very often, but when he does, it's like being a little kid and getting told you're being taken to your favorite place to eat when you don't get to go there very often!

"Mikel Square", an address in the famed City, has a bit of something for everyone. It's not minor-themed, although a few background characters who are said to be minors have "walk on" roles. There are gay themes, straight themes, penectomy, castrations-a-plenty, and overall, something for everyone. There is plot, intrigue, and of course, a climax (pun intended) that's something for a writer to die for! No, no one died!

Now, about Nathan's works:

When I took over about 20 years ago (read: got suckered into this job), Nathan was already writing. I loved his works. I even suggested a few character sketches and plots, and he used them!

Recently, we did an analysis of the top 100 ranked stories - the ones with the most 5-star ratings.

Our #1 author, and ruler of the top 100 is Nathan! Not all 100 are his works, but very many of them are.

Clocking in at nearly 60k words, this is a big one. About 6 chapters, compared to how I like to write a chapter.

But it's not about me; it's about Nathan, and his new story.

Go there and read it right now.

Dust off your printer, buy some ink if you must, but just read it.

You'll be glad you did.

It's a terrible story, but I still liked the ending.

Of the 100 stories (of the more than 8800 on the Archive) that received the most 5-star ratings, 83 have a named author and 17 were posted as anonymous or unknown. Of that 83, Nathan wrote 10. No other author comes close. We hope to have an analysis of the themes of the top 100 published soon and I will post the abstract and an offer to send PDF copies once it is in print.

I love Nathan’s stories as well, and it looks like the ratings reflect the quality. Now I am qurious if I have missed some masterpieces of other authors. Was the top 100 list shared somewhere? If not can you share it if it is not big deal?

Maybe I'm wrong, but in my humble opinion, it is not possible to reveal by simple counting "stars" and other things the best literary works in the EA library.

At the very least, you should not limit yourself to reading only those stories that fall on the mentioned list.

People's tastes can be completely different, the more they change depending on the life situation, mood, availability of free time for reading.
