Surgery next week

After 8 years of being chemically castrated, I finally have a orchidectomy scheduled for Tuesday. People have asked me why the chemical castration wasn't enough and I couldn't really explain. I imagine I'll feel about the same.
I hadn't heard about MtE gender dysphoria before finding this board. Maybe that's what I have. I've never liked saying I was male but I'm definitely not female either.
I feel so new to all this. Anyway, can't wait

Good luck with your operation. 8 years on chemical castration drugs is a very long time. Have you been monitored by. Doctor? According to many reports in here, chemical castration drugs can have a negative impact on liver and other internal organs. So in that sense, surgical castration seems logical, as it will be more healthy for you on the long run.
Wish you a speedy recovery.
Have you had any breaks in all these years ? And

Thanks for the support

It's all done now and I'm a little sore but feeling surprisingly good after just 6 hours.
The chemical castration was monitored by an endocronologist with blood tests and bone density scans. A couple of years ago I went off it for a month to see what would happen (at the doctors recommendation) and my testosterone jumped right back up to normalish levels.
I'm really glad I never have to go through that again.

Hi Andrew926535, I hope you are recovering well. May I ask what your Endochronologist had you on for your chemical castration?
