I am considering castration and would like a few questions answered before going through with it. These questions are directed at anyone that has been surgically castrated and is on TRT. I am 74 years old in very good health with a very high libido, my wife of 52 years has a very low libido and to make matters worse has Lichens Sclerosis of the Vulva so penetration is very painful for her. Our sex consists of mutual masturbation which is as good as it will ever get. However because of the differences in libido we struggle with our sex live. My favorite fantasy for masturbation involves me having been castrated and smooth under my penis. If I were castrated and on TRT I could continue with my masturbation fantasy and lower my libido to better match my wife.

Question #1; When I am horny I feel it in my balls as a slight tingling feeling which some might call Blue Balls. Can anyone answer what happens after castration and there are no balls to feel. Do you notice it when you become horny?

Question #2; When I ejaculate I feel the sensation of my balls pulling up and the ejaculate spurting. What does the sensation feel like during climax without balls?

Question #3; When I masturbate I love the feeling of a very hard penis. Is this sensation the same without balls?

Question #4; I have read on here of the penis shrinking after castration. Will this happen if a person is on TRT?

Answers to these questions would help me make up my mind. This is something I have desired for a very long time and I feel that at this late stage of my life along with my sex live with my wife having changed to one of masturbation only that I might as well indulge my biggest masturbation fantasy. Any thoughts and opinions are welcome.

No, blue balls are no longer an issue. You won't feel what you don't have.

Use it or loose it. Penis atrophy results from lack of regular blood flow engorging the little fellow.

At your age and given what you say about mismatched libidos you may want to consider forsaking TRT all together after castration. (I've been castrated almost six years and only took TRT for a year of that time). Most men still maintain the ability to get an erection although your desire for one will probably (not always) diminish. Although HRT (estradiol and progesterone) has increased my libido my wife's sex drive is now much higher than mine. Feel free to ask me any further questions directly.

seanthomas, well put. My wife also has low libido and mine was very high. We first did a chemical castration trial that stretched out tool long (two years depo-provera ad two Androcur). My wife read that long-term hormone use can be unhealthy. Was surgically castrated in October 2019. We used no testosterone until this January. Had to go on for bone health after an operation. Now going back off T. With very low T, sex is an abstract thought ... saved our marriage.

Are you getting castrated because your balls are not working? Are they unhealthy?

I went on TRT before mine were removed. They were not working well. And, they were getting very small. I received implants to replace mine. I am on a nasal TRT. It's called Natesto. I squirt it in my nose twice a day. Depending on if your nose is clean and where you squirt it, you can get your T level back to anywhere from 500 to 1000. I clean my nose really well with a honey spray. I have been able to get numbers around 1000. At first, I was only getting up to 600.

You take this 2 or 3 times a day. I am able to get horny and jack off every day.

It did take some getting used to that I could not flex my balls anymore (after being cut off). Now, it's not something I think about.

The first time I jacked off, after they were cut, (about 10 days later), there was a strange feeling like the cords muscles were trying to flex for ejaculation. It was a little odd and uncomfortable at first but now it feels like normal.

My other balls would mostly hang out inside me and it felt like my scrotum was empty. I like having a newer larger pair. I am not missing my other ones. I would have preferred to have healthy large balls. This is not a bad solution.

I did have some panic attacks before and after they were removed. At the clinic, I was able to relax and accept that mine would be chopped off soon. Now, I like playing with and touching my fake balls (soft solid silicone). The scrotum still provides a nice erotic feeling when they are rubbed.

You should figure out what type of TRT you will go on before getting them removed. For example, I like the nasal TRT but my insurance will not pay for it. They will only cover injectable or gel on the body. I pay $140 a month for three containers. But I usually only use about two. I am able to build up a supply. Natesto needs a prescription and it comes from a mail order pharmacy in Florida.

I have been on Androgel for almost 10 years, my testicals have shrunk considerably and spend most of the time in my groin. I like the feel of an empty scrotum and I don't like the bulge in my groin coming from the testicles. I originally went on Androgel because my testosterone levels were about 150. About a year ago I stopped the Androgel to see what would happen and my testosterone level dropped to 40. So they are not working at all. I am considering castration because the testicles are not functioning and likely never will. After castration I will have the empty scrotum removed and will enjoy the smooth feeling below. My experience is similar. I had much higher libido than my wife and sex was painful for her, so killing my balls got rid of my sex drive and we're happier than ever. I don't miss what I no longer desire, or even think about other than as a distant memory. My endocrinologist is monitoring my bone health, but if it starts to decline I'll take estradiol. We both like my more feminine body. T was just bad news for me.

@notsomanly , May I ask if you have had only castration, or total emasculation?
