A couple of threads were deleted this morning for good reason. Two of the many functions of the moderators on this site are to prevent flame wars and to try to keep the threads accurate and honest. The two deleted threads were moving too close to becoming flame wars over political positions. It was not something that we allow at the Archive, and haven’t for several years because of the trouble it causes. Best to nip it in the bud.

I deleted the posts summarily, no notices, no traces. I wanted all aspects of it off the Archive. I should have made it available to other moderators, but I did not. I will make deleted posts available for their review in the future.

Let’s keep the Archive a friendly and supportive place for all.

Thank you Kristoff.

If you've noticed recently, many sites related to the subject matter discussed on the Eunuch Archive have ceased to exist. The reason we moderate as we do here is to prevent that from happening.

Here are the things which will generally get the attention of a moderator to take action should they happen. It's not an all inclusive list, but hopefully this will provide a general guide of discussions which may catch a moderators attention.

1. Harm of Children - There is ZERO TOLERANCE for harm to real, living, children. Discussion of actual surgical procedures on children, or theoretical discussions of involving children in real situations which can be seen as harmful to minors, is prohibited.

2. No politics - Once upon a time, the EA had a political discussion board. People were constantly arguing with one another. Now there is no political discussion board. Please respect that.

3. Talk of self-harm or advocacy of doing such to others - Talk of using the services of a "cutter", advocating non-naturally occurring death (suicide or snuff discussions), linking to videos/photos/content of non-medical procedures (IE a "cutter" castrating someone), non-consensual abuse and torture, in addition to other illegal activities, is discouraged.

Please keep in mind, we're not out to get anyone. My view is, those who moderate best, moderate least. None of us want to take action against anyone, but when things get out of hand they need to be addressed.
