Many here are gardeners.
Share.
I am a "free range" gardener
and grow what likes it here
such as Peter's Honey Fig as opposed to
other types that just don't thrive well.
Garlic & onions just don't seem to like it here
nor asparagus.
Boysenberries :hearthrob here although not
blackberries nor raspberries.
Blue berries also thrive but, don't fruit well.
How does YOUR garden grow?

This is a good idea for a thread!
I have these:
Calico Pe (

https://www.pepperscale.com/calico-pepper/)
I had one go red.
I ate it.
I want to die now.

Where I live.... NOTHING likes it here! Well, nothing you would like to eat, so no vegetables or fruits unless you are willing to spend 24/7 watching over your garden, we have a horrid gopher/ rodent/ pest problem here along with drought/ heat/ wind, I gave up on growing anything here, except maybe prickly pear cactus.
When I read about everyone else harvesting mushrooms.... OMG you have mushrooms that grow?!? IN THE WILD?! Or gardening.... I suppose I could keep a garden, if I could afford the enclosed climate controlled greenhouse and the water bill. As for now, cactus is about the only desirable plant that will grow. God I envy people who can keep a garden.

I found so many smooth chanterelles (orange) that I had to start freezing them, as well as just leaving them in the woods.

OH! I have to tell you all about the most delicious appetizer EVER!! Yesterday, I was in Las Vegas, and I happened upon the "Smoking Pig Barbeque" where I tried an appetizer..... "wolf turds."
If you like peppers, you will like "wolf turds," they are jalapeno peppers, stuffed with cheese, and wrapped in bacon, then baked to perfection. BEST APPETIZER EVER!

I didn't grow the broccoli, but the rest I did. Did a mixed veggie pan full of dirty eggs with cheese tonight. Melted sharp cheddar, that is. Caramelized tomatoes, sweet peppers, onions, and the lot. Cooked in butter, with some cracked black pepper, coarsely shredded. OK, I didn't grow the peppercorns either.
It looked terrible, but it was great.
Making the best of what tomatoes I get. This year has been far too wet for them, and between two kinds of fungus and root rot, they're pretty much failed. Green or half ripe ones falling off the vine, too. And those that do approach ripeness usually rot on the vine and explode when grabbed.

Try it, it works!

I grew hundreds of tomatoes this year. We also had pole beans, onions, carrots and okra. IÂ’ve still got two gallons of bell peppers in the freezer from last year. IÂ’d like to plant a late crop of cow peas, but itÂ’s pretty hot right now outside Atlanta.
