"A Brisbane man with no formal medical qualifications who filmed himself performing "backyard" consensual castration surgeries on two men has been handed a suspended sentence and will be released from jail on probation."
[...]
"The court was told King met the men, a 26-year-old from New South Wales and a 66-year-old from Victoria, on a eunuch-interest website, and the two surgeries occurred at a motel in Logan and a hostel in Brisbane. It was also told King came to the attention of police after the second man suffered complications and needed hospital treatment."
[...]
""I am eternally grateful to Ryan for enabling me to enjoy life," he read. Judge Jones said the younger man had wanted all of his sexual organs removed ever since he was a child because he "wanted to be a eunuch". King was given a three-and-a-half-year jail sentence, but was released immediately after serving 355 days in pre-sentence custody. He will be subject to reporting conditions under a probation order for three years."

This is the guy who castrated and penectomized a guy who went online by the name of Eunyau. The videos were posted to the site which shall forever remain nameless on the EA.

I'm on the fence about this particular incident and the resulting events. On one hand what happened was extremely dangerous and I would never advocate anyone seek the services of a cutter because so often these cutters just want to get their jollies off by taking another guys jollies off (please excuse the pun I couldn't help myself). That said I don't believe in regulating or criminalizing what happens between two consenting adults, and further more things like this would be far less likely to happen if there were more viable options. I'm glad he's out of jail but I hope he doesn't perform any more castrations.

Considering how so many females doing vengeful and even more dangerous forced and sneek castrations or penis amputations are not harshly punished when they are even prosecuted, male castrators usually get far more punishments, even in mutually consentual castrations. And lots of very dangerous things like skydiving, cliff jumping, mountain climbing, diving with sharks, etc. Are not illegal or punished by laws. It seems like some cultures just can t grow past their old sex hating puritan roots.

I kinda agree with you, but cutters are dangerous and must be stopped. Access to nonbinary transgender affirming surgery is increasing; I see these cases as an indication of poor access to services. Cutters are never the solution: not only do they lack surgical training and medical support services, they have no psychiatric training and so may not spot the signs of psychosis, borderline, bipolar, or complex PTSD that might lead some to seek castration that they later regret. Psychiatric assessment and/or gender therapy can be of great benefit. Everyone has the right to medical and surgical services delivered by competent professionals, not by enthusiastic amateurs, no matter how well-meaning.
