I have done several short trials of Androcur, each lasting about 2-3 months. Each time I stated with 100 mg for the first 2 weeks and then eased off to 50 mg a day for the remainder of the trial. I found that the castration-like effects would start to kick in after about 2-3 weeks. I was happy with the effects that I achieved with these trials (mainly loss of erections and large decrease in libido), but some of the side effects were annoying. After each trial ended, I found that I would return to my previously "normal" state in about 4 weeks or so.
Last year I decided to try a longer 6 month trial. During this trial I started on 100 mg as above, decreased to 50 mg after 2 weeks and then eventually decreased again to 25 mg for the last several months. This trial ended late last year and it has now been over 7 months. To my surprise, I have not seen myself returning to what I think of as my previously normal state. I do not have erections of any type during the day or when sleeping (far as I know). If I try to stimulate myself to achieve an erection I am basically unsuccessful in more than a very slight swelling which disappears as soon as I stop whatever I am doing. When I look at erotic images or stores, I find them interesting and perhaps one could say stimulating but only at an intellectual level. They produce no erections or even partial erections. My libido is very low and I have no real desire for sex. I enjoy cuddling and closeness with my partner but it does not progress to desire for sex.
I am not necessarily unhappy with this state of affairs but based on my readings and discussions, I am puzzled at this outcome. I am a generally healthy 65 year old, athletic and in decent shape. (The only other medication I take is telmisartan for minor hypertension. I have been taking that medication for at least 6 years.)
So, I am interested in others' experience with Androcur or similar products. Does anyone have an experience where the effects have lingered for a long time or even become permanent?

Re: Androcur lingering effects
You are not the first person who have complained about such an undocumented side effect of Androcur. Please check your testosterone levels. If this is the undocumented side effect, your T levels should be close to normal.
I can only speculate why this side effect is not documented. It might be because Androcur users are old men with prostate cancers who will never regain their potency before their death.
And also, it is specifically noted, that Androcur should never be used to treat precocious puberty or used on underage transgender patients. If you read carefully, it says "normal libido might return after Androcur treatment." Which means it might not. But why, I haven't seen an explanation yet. May be Androcur damages T receptors somehow. It is targeting T receptors anyway. May be someone else has better knowledge?

The way it sounds, you have gotten well past the point of no return and become permanently chemically castrated. From searching EA, most people report permanent changes after 6 months of Androcur. I have reached this state more than 10 years ago, and am very happy at this state. I am just a year or so younger than you now, so I have been castrated since in my 50's. Over time, I have learned to achieve satisfying orgasms even when soft, and oozing drips of clear cum.
Without Viagra, I don't get hard at all. And I am
g sex.
Do please check your testosterone levels. If they are low, we are at the age of developing osteopenia (precursor to osteoporosis). With a low testosterone test report, I was able to convince my doctor to order the expensive bone density scan, which confirmed my osteopenia. So I am now on low-dose medication to prevent worsening of osteopenia. I certainly don't want to develop a hump back and turn into a little old man, and worse yet, with fractured bones.

Re: Androcur lingering effects
I ended my cyproterone trial as I was scheduled to get the covid jab and so a week prior I thought it wise to stop. That was around 5 weeks ago and while morning erections are back I have little sexual interest and forced myself to masturbate once more out of curiosity. After some frantic tugging in which my heart rate went into the red zone I finally reached the goal and carried on with my day. I am surprised at what I am taking as the shadow of CPA but not concerned. In the interests of putting all the facts on the table I was taking 2mg of estradiol for the last three weeks of my chemical castration trial so this is a factor. The estradiol was started after being on CPA and was taken in combination to get to castrate levels of T. I was therefore running at lower levels of T than a CPA alone trial which could explain my longer low T period after trial end.
