Hi all

I was castrated just over 3 years ago after a mishap with CalC2 its on this thread.

I have not been using any TRT for over 6 months but taking Estrofem 2mg daily for the last 5 years.

Just had by bloods done again and the doctor says they are fine my T level is just above the lower level of the scale, this I dont understand as the only part of me that is making T is my adrenal glands which I would say is a small amount, I still get the odd morning erection is usally because of needing a pee to be fair as its not rock hard, If I do get hard and play with it I lose interest before getting anywhere near cumming so I guess something is working.

What I would like to know is this does Estrofem give you any effects like what T does? As it seems odd why my levels are where they are.

Is there a better female hormone to take to prevent bone problems etc?

I dont want to grow bigger breasts than I have already althrough more feminine nipples would be great nice cigar butt nipples.

Also has anyone suffered from breathlessness since being castarated and low on T? As I have had really bad breathing problems over the last 5 months and I started to use some TRT for the last 7 days and my breathing seems to have improved.

Any help would be great and thank you in advance.

I found this quote on the internet:

When merging the two molecules they would look identical except that the testosterone has one extra carbon atom noticeable from its molecular bridgework. The similarities explain why some men have higher levels of estrogen. It makes it quite easy for aromatase enzymes to slice away that extra carbon atom converting testosterone into estrogen. It can actually be good as men need some levels of estrogen …

Considering that, I would recommend you see an Endocrinologist. If the human body makes a hormone, they know about it. Plus, they get bored dealing with diabetes all day.

I would but finding an Endocrinologist here in the UK that is willing to help is very hard.

Hey lynne,

Yes. Finding an endocrinologist is difficult everywhere. Finding a good one is even more difficult. I'm curious why you wouldn't get help from an endo considering your testicles have been removed. Your main desire is to avoid bone loss and to not have a male libido. Since estrofem isn't getting the job done, I would recommend stoping the estrofem before seeing the endo. If not that, then at least stop the estrofem for a few weeks before your next hormone check with your primary. If all your hormones go to almost zero with no estrofem, then an endo would be in order.

Your frustration is normal. It can help to have an advocate in the room with you when discussing these things.

Many thanks for your advice I will stop the Estrofem before I have my next bloods taken and see what happens, what is the half of T in the body? Do you know.

Hey,

As you pointed out, the adrenals make a tiny amount of testosterone. The liver can convert estrogen into testosterone and the other way around. Bodybuilders who abuse testosterone and other anabolic steroids can experience an undesired increase in estrogen that results in puffy breast development (there is a crude name for this in the bodybuilding community).

Without testicles, your level of testosterone is a bit of a mystery. I am not sure how long you should stop the estrofem before your lab draw.
