When I was in Junior High a classmate died in a boating accident. His body was never recovered but about a week later they held a service for him in a Catholic Church. We all called it "The Church of Harald and Maude," because, and I'm not making this up, it was the filming location where Harald first met Maude and where Maude stole the priest's car.

I remembers watching part of the filming but what made the biggest impression on me was seeing Harald's Jaguar Hearse. At the time I thought it was the coolest car I'd ever seen. I also know the exact beach where Harald trashed the Jag.

Just a small but rather important point, the film is Harold and Maude, misspelling does spoil it somewhat.

Not huge deal, but significant portions were filmed in and around the San Francisco Bay Area in the US state of California, where I find myself situated this evening before relocating to environs in the eastern US.

If one knows where to look around the area as they're driving about, they can still see things which existed at the time of filming.

Silly boy, I was out visiting the west coast. I traveled east to go home. LOL

Loved that movie and these days we don't appreciate how groundbreaking it was in the 1970s. It dealt with issues that were uncomfortable to downright taboo and did it all with brilliant humor. Cat Steven's sound track was also great and I remain a fan of his old music to this day.
