Bar Soap -vs- Body Bath

I didn't realize until recently that there is a serious divide between those that use bar soap from those that use Bodywash.
Maybe I missed this important topic because I actually have a few favorites in both bar and liquid bath soap. Ranger, all by himself takes half a bottle of Axe body wash twice a day.
I use unscented deodorant, unscented shaving gel. I prefer unscented so that the soap I've used in the shower isn't fighting some scene in my deodorant.
Prepare to laugh at me. I actually really like a body wash/shampoo that is sandalwood scented - the brand is called "Every Man Jack".
Nevertheless, I am not giving up my bar soap anytime soon. I will use them depending on my mood or how much work I've been doing that makes me sweat. I normally shower at night and will sometimes use a light scent like lavender. But, depending, I will shower in the morning.
So, let the great debate begin. Bodywash or Bar Soap?

You live in the south therefore acceptance of a shower, bathtubs are very relevant. For Ranger, probably, especially

. I always use two grades of soap: one with a neutral smell (at us it is called "Children's"), another - as will turn out... For hair - surely shampoo with balm.

I like both liquids and bars. Both work well on tough sweat and dirt. Liquids have more different scents to choose from than men s bar soaps. But somehow a big bar of soap in my hands feels good. Small left over bar soap slivers and liquid containers going on empty are both hassles. Bars don t need more squirts constantly to do their job, one advantage of bars over liquids. Liquids need lots of squirts to keep using them on your whole body.
Extra hairy men who get teased for always having a fur covered bar of soap on display in your shower might like the liquids not collecting our body hair so obviously for everyone to laugh and tease us about. And with liquid soaps, you don t need to spend time washing off your hairy bar of soap to hand it over to share it with other people who are sharing your shower with you.
I use strongly scented soaps to mask my sweat ripening over the day and to smell good to other people. Choosing what I smell like with different soaps sure beats aged sweat. But it can t cover up horse and cattle smells that stick to your hair, skin, and your clothes. So scents have their limits. I do get compliments from people on the strongly scented soaps

I did not think this thread would turn erotic. But, there is something about a hairy man that is very erotic. I believe the secret to a good long term relationship is separate bathrooms. So, for almost 40 years, I've not had to share a shower with anyone else.
I can't see why anyone would make fun of someone who left a hair on a bar of soap. The solution would be simple, tell them to use their own soap.

Funny thread! I prefer to simply use hair shampoo so while washing my hair, before a rinse it cleans the whole body and scents like my hair. also it has the added benefit of not having to spend money on separate cleaning products. in the end though it's how other folks respond when they are close enough to smell us.

LOLOL Ranger does use Axe but that usage is incredibly exaggerated. Unless I can pick up a sponsor, we limit ourselves to one bottle per week. Not much hair here, we’re more available for the smooth show.

Thanks TopManFL, life is made for being erotic as much as we can. Especially showering and washing each other sensually. I love shared showers and gang showers, especially with fellow gay men. They really appreciate the eye candy and shared male experience.
I agree with you that extra hairy men get lots of men turned on like wild. I take pride in being teased when my soap bar is covered in hair. The teasing is good natured and men like commenting on me being hairy enough for it to look like my soap bar was used on washing a dog off lol. But the hair is scratchy when you scrub with a bar covered in shed hair. And it digs into the soap to be hard to rinse off as you hand the soap back and forth as you wash and scrub each other. The best solution is to shower with other extra hairy men who are used to having hairy bars of soap of their own. But you re right, 2 bars of soap solve this instantly. Its the smoother men who most notice the hairy soap and comment on it. But often in admirable teasing. They look surprised but pleased when I hand them a bar of soap covered in hair mid way through a shared shower lol ! It reminds us that we are male animals. There was a comedy movie a while back that had a scene showing a fur covered bar of soap in a man s shower being worth a good laugh as people asked him about being so hairy that his soap looked like a hairy little animal.
My biggest problem with sharing showers with other men at home is in trying not to startle them when I came home from work and want to join them in the shower right away. Every man has seen Alfred Hitchcock s famous Psycho shower scene and get startled when they think they are alone and I come home unexpected. I ve tried all different ways of not startling men when they are alone and in the shower. Silently joining them in the shower fails miserably in being too startling. So does stripping down and talking in the bathroom. Opening the bathroom or shower door or pulling back the shower curtain without lots of advance warning freaks men out. Calling out from the front door seems to be the best way to not startle and surprise them. But its tough to hear in the shower. And shampoo in the eyes stings. But hearing me call their name in the distance from the front door lets them figure out they are not alone any more, moments before I come in the bathroom. Then it doesn t scare them to strip down and join them in the shower for a romantic adventure.

Did you get hooked on shaving for swim meets ? Or you are naturally smooth without needing to shave your body ? You gotta try showering sensually with a super hairy man. It will be a new experience for a str8 Casanova like you Roger. Its so different from soaping up smooth women. Try it.

I've never really understood guys who will buy men's dirty underpants online.
However, I could understand some guy buying a bar of soap with real man hair on it. I am naturally smooth - never really worried about it. As a Gay Top, I prefer a bottom that takes the time to shave down for me. However, I am also aware that there are bottoms who cannot do that because they will break out in a rash.
On a Top Man, a full body of hair is super masculine.
