Do you think our sexual kinks are genetic and inherited from our fathers and grandfathers ?

From personal experience, I do think men in different generations who share similar genetics, are very likely to share similar sexual kinks. And not only from the obvious shared environmental causes of growing up in similar conditions and being surrounded by the same people in their lives. The age old debate of genetics vs nuturing influencing people ?

How many men on here think they have male relatives who are into the same castration ideas ?

How many men think your environment and your past upbringing is what caused your castration interests ?

How many think an experience triggered their interest in castration and not their genetics or upbringing ?

I think it's environment only, experiences and upbringing being part of environment.

I'm circumsexual, my dad was too and I have serious clue my grandad was as well

My therapist, who is specializes in kink and polyamory, thinks it's totally experiential. I think we were talking about my experience of being caned on the bare bottom over the arm of a leather armchair, and being comforted after by my large bosomed house matron.

sexual kinks in my opinion are learned traits. We are after all the sum total of (all) our experiences in life.

I think if men are honest, its surprising how many dads, uncles, brothers, cousins, and other related males do share strong attractions to, and enjoyment of, the relatively rare sexual fetish of human castration.

I m sure environment is part of it. But some men from similar environments and experiences don t get the sexual thrill at all, or in much weaker degrees. It seems like once you find a man with a very strong enjoyment of human castration, his male relatives are likely to have a few very appreciative men who have a strong sexual attraction to castration. More than random chance.

Circumcision certainly does seem to run in families. I always wonder if its the mothers or fathers or the Drs. who really decide which infants get circumcised and which get to enjoy their intact foreskins ?

I wish I could feel certain about this issue (Kinks/fetishes genetically passed on or acquired from environment and experience?) but I have observed that both genetics and experiences have influence on people.

I believe that it is "a bit of both" that give us our traits and affinities for fetishes, but if I had to come down on one side or the other I would say that experiences and the way we were brought up has a stronger influence, but that the genetic influence can be the stronger one in some individuals.

When I look at myself, so many times I have thought "I must have been secretly adopted! There is NO WAY I am at all similar to my siblings!" Seriously when people say "The fruit does not fall far from the tree" I look at myself and I know that in so many ways that is NOT the case.

So, I have to fall firmly on both sides of the argument, not completely committed to either way, hard core wishy washy and waffling on every issue! <(I should be a politician, then I could really use that ability and become a real pervert as well)

Personally I don’t want to know about my parents sex lives just as I’m sure my kids don’t want to know about ours. Unfortunately our kids discovered the drawer in the bedside table and know more than they ever wanted to. Don’t go meddling in your parents bedroom was the lesson they learned from that.
